We had our first 🎵music 🎶class today. A very big thank you to @Terschmusic for visiting our class & teaching us how to keep the beat & telling us about high & low pitch using the glockenspiel.

Today, many students wore orange in honour of Orange Shirt Day.

Yesterday our class went for the Terry Fox Walk 👟

We are learning to read by looking at the pictures. Ss were excited to use their white boards today & we used dice for math.

We read the book David Goes to School to introduce the topic of ‘responsibility’. Ss also helped brainstorm ideas of what they think the word responsibility means.

Today Ss worked on self-portraits, they all did an amazing job!!!! We are also learning about the seasons.

We are learning the Grade 1 chant and learning to represent numbers on a 10 frame.

At #BIT19 listening to the keynote speaker Angela Stockman....rethinking print vs. writing. Considering the resistant writer...creating spaces and environments where many types of mediums and modalities are used to encourage all types learners become writers.

Who is the real hero? We had a visit from Ironman at our Terry Fox assembly this morning and even he had to admit - it has to be Terry Fox! Eldorado Ss are set to support our hero Terry Fox's vision for curing cancer through fundraising for cancer research.

Our class went on a nature walk today.

We had an Earth Rangers presentation today. We met animal ambassadors like Sonic the barn owl. Also learned about the damage single use plastic items are causing to the environment & wildlife.

Ss in 1B were busy exploring our class and learning the new routines the first week of school.

We are on our way to the Living Arts Centre for a dram workshop!
