In Math we started with Fluency, working on recognizing and making anchors to 10. We then applied our learning by solving a problem using our tools and documenting our learning.

Sentence level instruction and tasks develop syntax, and orthographic mapping of irregular words and phonetic code. We love fixing mixed up sentences in Grade 1. ⁦@TheWritingRevol⁩

Developing consistent learning routines is a key to learning progress in Grade 1. We learned to whisper read decodable text, highlight Phonetic Codes and practice using/spelling irregular words in sentences. ⁦@UFLiteracy⁩ ⁦@WinstonPSLDSB⁩

Getting to know my students through Addition and Subtraction screener by using the Alex Lawson continuum.

Our Shared Reading plans this week incorporated Morphology/ Vocabulary, Retell with sentence stems and persuasive letter writing to bump up expectations for our Grade 2s.
