@RockettLord Middle school band. The band part is probably more worth you attention than the middle school part.

Wait, so the founder of Anthropic is "Amodei," as in "loves god"? And he leads Anthropic, meaning "human-centered," which is being used in military strikes? And the creator of ChatGPT is "Altman," as in "an alternative to humans"? And he leads OpenAI, which is completely closed? And then there's "Gemini," meaning "two-faced," from a company that promised to do no evil? And the whole global AI arms race is being driven by people who claimed to be worried about AGI taking over the world? Either the universe is an extremely cliché writer, or has a brilliant sense of humor

context % = stupidity. Lower stupidity is better. the longer you talk to it, the stupider it gets. cmd-shift-L is my default (new chat)

@mattpocockuk TS-BS detector-fixer. There's some eslint rules for the very basics, but it would be awesome to have a skill that detects and fixes the "I'm lying to my compiler" class of problems. Some use for people, but you see LLMs doing a lot of it, too

Everyone's been asking me to make some kind of TypeScript skill. It won't be a "TypeScript Best Practices" skill, because I think skills are best used for a purpose, like: - Migrating from JS to TS - Fixing spaghetti types - Improving TS perf - Extracting types from libraries What else would you want from this skill/set of skills?

America is so gifted. That you can make it from Duluth (or Chicago, Detroit, etc.), with a load of timber, iron ore, corn, grain, and coal, to NYC or the Atlantic, all by low cost freighter via the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence (or Erie once upon a time), means the Midwest and all its resources are 'unlocked'. The whole rust belt, and then mid-west, was built around this and yet everyone kind of shrugs about it now

@simonsarris Very NH, industrious homesteading family, seasons, calming, beauty. (My wife was a kindergarten teacher so we had a big collection and that was my favorite).

@housecor I think this is a more scalable approach than trying to stuff all your coding preferences and guidelines in context

@housecor If you can describe what you want (valid and invalid cases) AIs can generate an eslint rule (with tests!) to enforce it. Then, in real code: AI breaks rule, has to fix linting errors, and mistake is corrected, usually sub-second.

AI is an accelerator. So, bad guardrails = bad code, faster. Useful guardrails: -Types -Tests -Linting -Auto-formatting -AI reviews -Clear definition of done -Robust human code reviews -Automated CI checks The more AI can validate itself, the better chance it can "one shot".

@growing_daniel After joining the Baptist church, they’ll expect you to take Bible classes for the rest of your life (or teach them). Sunday School etc.

Becoming Christian in Baptist churches is like “close your eyes and say these eight words” while joining the Catholic Church is like becoming a paralegal. You literally have to take night classes

@Austen Maybe they should be required to put the disability and necessary accommodations on the transcript, adding context to the courses/grades for potential employers
