@ManagerTactical And this is why the US cannot develop players within if we are always importing the game, the tv commentators, players, coaches. We don’t even know how to call the sport ..soccer or football, field or pit, coach or manager. We are doomed.

@satch_franco @ManagerTactical I generally agree with you that league play is easier and probably less taxing; but at the top end Serie A had 2 teams in the semifinal of the Champions League and Inter were a couple of Lukaku missed sitters away from stealing the trophy from a team that’s dominated the Prem

Mount, Havertz and Pulisic all left Chelsea this summer. Pulisic 🇺🇸 was considered to be the worst one by their fan base, he was the one they came after the most and wanted long gone. The season has started, Kai and Mount(now injured) still look as bad as they were as Chelsea players, while Pulisic has been off to a great start with Milan.

The Saudi 🇸🇦 league’s investment and players they are bringing is quite impressive. I still can’t figure out their end goal, no one will care to watch from outside their own region. Unless they believe this level of investment is sustainable with just the domestic market.

@PlutoCFC Most of these clips he’s wearing the 10. So, no, they are not during lockdown. They’re just the times he played since then.

@rcethomas37 @YoungLilPappy It’s ironic because of all of the twitter drama, but the person who passed to him the most in these situations was Mount. And Ollie when they had little 1-2s

@JonPloug @michaelmina_lab Been recovering from Long Covid for 3 years now and this is the first time I have seen this explained. The things that seemed to have helped my recovery were reinfections (delta was the big one) and also vaccines/boosters (which hit me hard). Bad for a short time then better.

@michaelmina_lab Great thread! I found this passage where a doctor describes how patients were plagued after being infected by “La grippe” in 1889-90. A new virus for people back then. In the end, they recovered all of their former vitality. A promising sign for today.

🧵 Ive written SARS-CoV-2 is a “textbook virus” • Textbook does NOT mean mild • Textbook viruses kill people • Textbook viruses harm long-term immunity • Textbook viruses cause dizzying amounts of poorly understood debilitating problems I explain w examples here! 1/40

Michael has long been targeted by Twitter charlatans, who egg on patients. Dr. Mina is the immunologist who discovered measles wipes out immune memory and helped prove EBV leads to Multiple Sclerosis decades later. He was on the post-viral sequelae beat before the pandemic.

Legitimately so perplexed on saving for kids’ college tuition Feels like it will either be $500,000 per kid or the whole system explodes under its own weight I think I’ll just be straight with them - they need to be really good at an obscure sport that still gives scholarships

Arsenal fans should take a minute to appeciate just how much Matt Turner has improved with the ball at his feet. The guy literally came from a hoofing league and spent a year developing a side of his game he's never done, then played it flawlessly against City 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

@zeynep It is weird. Basically recovered from Long Covid which started about 2.5 years ago - I always had fewer LC issues when my kid brought home a new bug.

So interesting, paper using a "natural experiment" in early 2020. Essentially suggests that all infections are potential "immune perturbations" — they leave an impact, including more robust future responses even to *different* viruses but at different types for men and women.🤯

#InterferonPower! Males -but not females- that recovered from mild #COVID19 become more responsive to the flu vaccine thanks to increased IL-15 release from #monocytes & potentiate production of #InterferonGamma by #Tcells! ⁦@Naturenature.com/articles/s4158…

@premleaguechat @YankeeGunner @luKarper I imagine his passing will improve quite a bit with Arsenal coaching this year. Guy has been playing the sport for fewer years than the U13s and seems to rise to the occasion each time he levels up.

@YankeeGunner @luKarper Quite harsh & unnecessary imo Who is the number two for City, Liverpool, Bayern, Barca, Madrid etc. We need to be realistic Matt Turner is a good shot stopper, 'just ok' with the ball at his feet & more importantly a good pro. The key components of a number two GK

@JJo19_ @1Rahencesports @swissfab11 @CFCPys I think it’s safe to assume the guy who runs a successful baseball team based largely on the numbers had someone run analytics and shared some ideas based on the data to his new manager.

Rio Ferdinand : “There is a lot of wild opinions being said behind the scenes, formations and players that the ownership want out of the team, I think Mendy would have been one of them in terms of kicking the ball, I dunno if an owner should even be talking about that” (FIVE)

@TristianBlomfi1 @CFCPys @JBurtTelegraph If you can’t tell your boss “I did this in order to get that result” even if it failed, then you don’t know what you’re doing or you have a massive ego and an attitude problem. You should be able to tell your players too. And anyone who asks. This guy was an egomaniac.

@ShaylPatel Also, the guy in this picture has disappeared. Calm. Collected. Thoughtful. Protective of the players. In his place has been a guy trashing his players in press conference and without any tactical convictions.

Wasn’t my First choice when Lampard was sacked. But boy did he win me over fast. Nothing about this feels right. Nothing. Didn’t deserve the sack, he deserved time. Stuck by us while the club went through sanctions. Understood what it meant to be Chelsea. Super Thomas Tuchel 💙

@rocchio_paul @MaccaSport Truth. Ziyech hasn’t left yet and Auba affords a couple more lineup options but they are thin at the wing (and injury prone at right wingback).

On #Pulisic: There’s a reason Chelsea are holding onto him. There aren’t many offers out there, certainly none that make any financial or long-term sense. It’s business.

@CFCPys It’s almost like Thomas Tuchel can only win if he literally has the best players in the world. No reason Leeds should even be close to Chelsea but they are drilled and coached better.

Cannot understand why midfield isn’t an urgent priority, Gallagher (not a pivot player) Chukwuemeka who is untested and Loftus Cheek again, not a pivot player. Numbers doesn’t equal sustainability. Jorginho will end up getting blamed by fans but has no choice but to play.
