@knickerbacker Well said. This is the most maddening part of the "they missed out on Mitchell" discourse. If they now have Mitchell, but no Barrett, IQ, or draft equity ... it's back to the Melo years, and those teams were never close to a title.

The moralizing about the shift on Ramírez was overwrought. As a LHB, he was shifted 94% of the time this year. Last 3 yrs BABIP as LHB v shift: .266 Last 3 years BABIP as LHB v no-shift: .326 They do it because it works. Sometimes it doesn't work, too.

Tennis in this town is taught and played by everyone under the sun. Courts and youth tennis are some of the most diverse spaces around. I gladly pay 14 dollars 4 times a week to support the courts. Pickleball players all quietly vote to stop our school busing program.

Important thread: we are already seeing an expansion of pickleball courts in Berkeley and it must be stopped.

Spain beats South Africa 5-4 in the first game of the WBCQ. Spain will face Czech Republic tomorrow, while South Africa will play again on Sunday. South Africa played a great game and left the tying run in scoring position. It was compelling, I love this competition.
