@pitdesi Hmm…. With all the grocery shopping, prep, and cleaning it does take 30-40h a month. The cost is understated though — savings are significant. Just thistle, for a few meals a week was like $100/week for me.
English

Clearly a skill issue.
diana@dianalokada
cooking your own meals really is the best way to devote 50h of your life every month to save $50

@pitdesi @akshay__mehra @AkshatGoenka You should try the Loya at Taj Palace in Delhi — it’s a hidden gem!

A new #1 in my fancy Indian food ranking!
1) Ambassadors Clubhouse (London)
2) Ettan (Palo Alto)
2 (tie) Semma (NYC)
3) Bungalow (NYC)
4) Dhamaka (NYC)
5) Rooh (SF)
6) Thali (Cape Town)
Ones I would not eat at again:
Indian Accent (Delhi)
Gaggan (Bangkok)
Copra (SF)
Tiya (SF)
Campton Place (SF)
Honorable mention: Ekaa (Bombay) is very good but not really Indian food by my definition (even though they claim it is)
RIP August 1 Five (SF), gone from this world too soon.
There are many other really good ones that aren’t fancy enough for this list like Bombay Canteen (Bombay) and Besharam (SF)

@Codie_Sanchez Would love to connect — my family’s run small businesses in India for over 100 years!

I'm planning an Indian tour... I think people severely underestimate India as a business powerhouse.
1) Past = It's only call centers. Now = millions speak fluent English.
2) Past: IT back office for the world. Now = tons of engineers with complex skills.
3. Past: Copycat Indian startups. Now = Billion-dollar native creative startups.
Functioning democracy. Rule of law. Intellectual property rights. Entreprenuerial attitude. All ingredients for the next startup innovation hub.

This is actually the situation in Gurgaon in India and people are still buying! I think, in that case —
Ability to pay rent is a function of people’s disposable income.
Ability to buy is a function of how much they sold their family home in Delhi for 😂
Leyla@LeylaKuni
$4,200 - monthly rent $12,000 - mortgage on the same house Why would any rational person buy? Yet multiple offers on the house within days. Make this make sense.

@isabelunraveled SF Jazz and there is also a small concert at the Golden Gate Park, every Thurs - Sat evening. Can be booked on AirBnB experiences.

Yes - lets get rid of them!
My platform is getting rid of:
online training
paper straws
pennies (& nickels)
loud motorcycles
resort fees
website cookie notifications
subscription services that make you call to cancel
automated phone systems that don't understand me
parking meters that don't accept cards
paper receipts
Forced app updates (more than 2x/yr)
the new apple photos UI
complicated password requirements
social media sites that penalize links
"Reply-all" on company-wide emails
Unreadable CAPTCHAs / annoying reCAPTCHAs
Flimsy takeout container lids that spill
Doorbell cameras that notify you about passing leaves
Pre-checked newsletter signup boxes
Hotel rooms with no accessible power outlets
Hotel rooms that make it hard to turn off lights/TV
PDF forms that aren't actually fillable
Clothing sizes that vary by store
WiFi that requires you to watch an ad
Birth year dropdown menus starting at 2024
Place dropdown menus that don't start with USA
"call for price"
zippers that get stuck
self checkout machines yelling "unexpected item"
Scissors packaged in containers requiring scissors, no clamshell packaging!
"Garden view" hotel rooms that don't face a garden
nutrition labels with different serving size that make it hard to compare apples to apples
QR code menus
snail mail for anything that could be an email (looking at you, banks)
Conference calls that could've been emails
The electoral college
Styrofoam
Bank websites that log you out after 30 seconds
Signs that say "Back in 5 minutes" with no time stamp
Flights with slow wi-fi
Restaurants that only serve tabasco hot sauce
most of the flight boarding in zone 1
Elon Musk@elonmusk
How much time is spent doing pointless “online training”? Sounds pretty bad. Even I have to do some of this stuff.

Must say @epigamia turbo is a disgrace to Greek yogurt. I wonder if anyone who made that product ever tried anything close to what a Greek yogurt is.

@pitdesi If you have 13 minutes to burn in line, I fux with Poppy Bagels in Oakland. Salt and pepper bagel fresh is pure fire.
English

@pitdesi No. My brother got it, and the only thing I was impressed by was its ability to understand Indian accent/Hindi to play songs.
English

@pitdesi There are airlines that would close the check-in an hour before the flight, especially international airlines that don’t have many flights from that airport. Probably because they have to redeploy the staff from the check-in to boarding.
English

Never understood this. I aim to get to the airport 45 mins-1 hour before the flight & never have issues. I do have clear, pre-check, status so I can take the shortest line.
Sometimes when dealing with a 3rd party for airport drop off I have to lie about what time my flight is.
