@andreperrotta13 Where do you see second round picks not being guaranteed stopping this year?

It was clear after DET signed Derrick Moore (pick #44) last week that CIN was going to have to fully guarantee Cashius Howell's (pick #41) rookie deal. Even clearer now with ATL fully guaranteeing Avieon Terrell's deal.
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

The #Falcons have signed Avieon Terrell to a fully guaranteed contract. The 48th overall pick is the lowest pick to receive a fully guaranteed contract in a deal negotiated by @DavidMulugheta of @AthletesFirst.

@Crew96Times I understand. I was just correcting the fact you posted blocked off sections, which you said you were doing the same thing, which you just proved you werent.

Secondly, the Nordecke grew throughout the evening. Mind you, there was only a single gate open, making it hard for most fans to be inside in time by the 5th minute when he took this picture. #Crew96

Firstly, you should familiarize yourself with historical attendance figures for most MLS teams in the opening rounds of the USOC. It's never been great. In fact, plenty of clubs have a history of relocating home games to alternate venues due to a lack of demand. #Crew96

@MLSTransfers Do you think FIFA actually thought theyd sell out at those prices? I remember seeing a US soccer presentation about the quads that included total revenue being significantly higher even though attendance was lower because they raised prices.

Biggest #USMNT fan but I’m not paying $2k to watch them in bad seats. It’s downright idiotic that FIFA are this incompetent at understanding the market.
Adam Crafton@AdamCrafton_

REVEALED: @TheAthleticFC has seen official “tickets purchased” numbers for World Cup group games at 70k SoFi Stadium near LA. Sales for high-priced USMNT opener are lagging significantly (40k tickets purchased) behind games such as Iran v New Zealand. nytimes.com/athletic/72131…

@JakeLiscow Would be an absolutely elite troll move if they added 4 void years to his deal. Wouldn’t even be mad at that point.

We quickly got to know Joe Flacco as the emergency sub for Joe Burrow last year, and he immediately won me over. Flacco is awesome. I hope he doesn't play, but it's nice to have the insurance!

@JoeGoodberry The amount of cap space in 2027 is why i thought maybe theyd be different this year since I figured theyd almost have to be to fil cap space for 27. Maybe with extensions etc

Around the league, the average year 1 cap hit for free agent contracts was 50.5% of their new APY. The Bengals did it at an 80.9% rate. Let's say they were still on the conservative side but not at the extreme like they currently are. Let's say they were at the 55% mark. They would have saved $12.17M on this year's cap. Sure, that $12M would still need to be accounted for in future years, but that's just $6M per year and the Bengals have a projected $100M in cap space in 2027. That extra $12M in cap space could have netted two more quality starters on defense. $12m is 4% of the current cap. $6M next year is just 1.8% of next year's projected cap. The final years $6M would then be 1.7% of that year's projected cap. 4% now vs 3.5% in future years. And that's the final tweet on how the Bengals structure contracts and how it limits them.

@John__Sheeran They either kept it here because they knew they were going to have an underwhelming free agency and wanted people to be excited about something, or they cant handle doing two things at once and the 3 calls it took to get this done they missed other free agents

@John__Sheeran That’s the most confusing part for me. If you’re in for those people you have to get someone. I assumed the LB talk was smoke because they banked on their rookies taking a step

JD@11_thedon

@John__Sheeran Here’s my question. I know we alway say “why didn’t the bengals do this?!” How do we know they didn’t and dude just saw more opportunity in Washington?

Some one tell me at @MLS or @PROreferees how this has NOT been called for offside???? Even moreso, how every time your league commentators are talking about it they’re not acknowledging this deflection?

Given the injury to Evander, there’s probably not a lot more you can expect out of that half. @fccincinnati needs to find a way to get a point out of this and hope the injury isn’t severe. This is the major risk when you only have 2 DPs on the offensive end, sadly.

@JamesRapien @LLonardo Any other team wouldnt be in this position first of all but also would be able to pull this off. When was the last time the bengals made the smart decision and it was easy? If you exclude burrows contract I honestly cant think of anything.

@JoeGoodberry Do you think they are more concerned about doing it and paying the upfront cash or more concerned with it working and them having to do it going forward?

The Bengals have never Restructured a contract in their history. So that would be a welcomed sight.

The Bengals can create $52M more cap space with "Simple Restructures" this offseason. They could work with $100M in possible Cap Space if they wanted.
Mike Bittenbender@DrMBFP

@JoeGoodberry Maybe @andreperrotta13 would know also, but how much space could they free up in restructures to compensate for the albatross of a Trey tag? We don’t want them repeating the disaster of last year with the Tee/ Chase contract debacle
