For A Marxism Without Guarantees
As someone who grew up in Venda, I can tell you that during the first wave of migration from Zimbabwe around 2004-2005, many Zimbabweans came into our communities. Many walked long distances to reach the villages in Venda, and all they asked for was shelter and food. We welcomed them and offered support. Many lived with us in our communities without any animosity for a long time. However, due to changing economic and political dynamics, the situation has evolved to some extent. Most of these migrants were young, barely between the ages of 15 and 20. They didn’t come as traders or businesspeople; they fled because of the dire economic conditions back home. We still live with them today in our villages in Venda and struggle together while building our lives. It's disheartening to see someone, likely a privileged middle-class Zimbabwean, spreading negativity online that can damage the relationships between working-class people and Zimbabwean migrants. This individual is criticizing the very same people who have shown solidarity with Zimbabweans in times of dire need, and we continue to do so, even during difficult times for everyone. While we may not have all our land back, we welcomed Zimbabweans into our villages during their time of great need and have lived with them in harmony. Please do not listen to gaslighters or misleading narratives.I have attached a link from a long post I did on Facebook about growing up in venda with Zimbabweans. I called it "Sungura Stories, Sorghum Beer, and Police Brutality." facebook.com/share/p/17Q1L6…

Misuzulu should be corrected. People do not migrate because they are hungry. People migrate because of business opportunities, education, exploitation of raw materials, exploitation of labour, investment. Misuzulu should infact teach his people that it is not the immigrants making them hungry. Immigrants are actually creating jobs for them. Very few South Africans own businesses. They have nothing. It is foreigners making the South African economy strong. He should actually say "bangahamba sizalamba" not the other way round . Majority of black South Africans are poor. Own nothing. Have no land, no business, no nothing hence the highest crime, "ukabambi kunzi". South Africa is unsafe country, you can not walk/drive freely at night. Because of poverty people steal, kill and do heinous crimes. The anti-immigrant attitude is misdirected. Their problem is not foreign influx. Their real problem is owning nothing in their own country. They are bitter. They are hungry

@Debry84 Specifically to this street and businesses on the video, it's lies. It's foreigners selling food the street and those gents washing cars but all the customers that wash cars, buy food and drink here are South Africans.

Miss a tax payment and they'll come after you. Steal a chocolate and you're a criminal. Drive after one too many drinks and you're in trouble. But millions crossing the border illegally? That's apparently where law enforcement stops. Make it make sense.

In Moz, I’ve been stopped for being in a South African registered car before & they tried to find fault. On a bus to Malawi, I was singled out in Moz & they tried to find fault. At a beach once, a cop was attracted by my camera & figured that I wasn’t local & similar story again

Let’s give u a quick example ,city med kept hiring cheap labour. We made sure they got raided, so now they have to cough out 10k per zaizai , then paid 100k for the HR.We hit the capitalist where it hurt the most 💰.Meanwhile there is a box outside for CVs SAns are dropping in 🙂
Andile Gogoda@AfricaisBlack

Face it, no immigrant has ever stolen your job. You lost your job because a Capitalist wanted cheaper labor in order to increase profits. The fact that you're mad at the Immigrant and not Capitalism proves you've fallen for the propaganda.

Police and community members have gathered at a house in Lehae La Batho outside Polokwane, Limpopo following allegations of human trafficking and kidnapping. It is alleged that a Nigerian national who has been renting the property recruited young women and men, aged between 19 and 23, to sell policies on the streets. Some of the young people found at the house reportedly told authorities that they had been living there after being recruited by the man since 2022. The young women and men are from Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal and Limpopo. Immigration authorities have since taken the suspect into custody after discovering that he is in South Africa illegally. Police are continuing their investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the allegations. No charges related to human trafficking or kidnapping has not yet been confirmed as police investigation are ongoing. Credits: Rendani Raliphaswa.

Police have seized suspected stolen copper to the value of over 12 million rand, in the Johannesburg CBD. Officials say this comes on the back of intelligence received from Zambian authorities regarding the hijacking of three trucks transporting copper blocks. Investigations revealed that two trucks carrying approximately 121 tonnes of copper slabs entered South Africa through the Beitbridge Border Post earlier this month, allegedly using fraudulent customs documentation. #KayaNews NPM
