@halvarflake Have you looked at ish.app ? It runs alpine using x86 emulation. There’s also a-shell which brings various tools, including Clang that compiles to WASM and WASM runner tools. And vim, AFAIK.

Folding an ipad pro into a laptop shape, my first instinct is: What would I do without a shell, a compiler, and vim? Is there a decent KVM app for ipad pro?

Thoughts after my first QCon: It's a conference with a very broad but sophisticated audience. It's also an audience unafraid of looking at problems that transcend the purely technical and touch on managerial, organisational and cultural problems. Good stuff.

I am excited to be a track host at #QConLondon this March 27-29. "Debugging Production" will highlight specific stories from security, frontend, database, profiling, and eBPF domains. Check out this & other amazing tracks in person or online in March! qconlondon.com/track/mar2023/…

@charliejhadley I guess this GUI component isn’t updated every time their database is so the number you see can be out of date with the true state of the backend. Or there could be any number of caches between the API that returns the number and the DBs and the exact number doesn’t really matter

does the “eco” setting on my air conditioner mean “eco friendly” or “economy” or is it a rorschach test of whatever my motivations are at the time?

@poeschko I was going to say “Masters of Doom” (about id software) but books like “Accelerate” or “Team Topologies” might be more immediately useful. “The Idealcast” podcast also has some interesting content in that vein.
