Memorial Day weekend is the start of peak Alaska cruise season. Even here in Seattle, I don't think people realize how big the Alaska cruise summer tourism boom actually is. 330 vessel calls expected in 2026, catering to more than 1 million individual travelers(!!!), generating $1.2B in local economic impact.

UPDATE ON PARTY HOUSE: The landlord played us. No wonder he wanted to manipulate and attack us to delete posts. He shared this with us and now we are learning this was created by him. Cory’s mom called the lawyer listed on the paperwork and he didn’t create or file this from what it sounds like. Nikita has no filings under his name since March 2026, and the ones he has look criminal. Cory has no filings at all. After Cory’s mom notified us of this fraudulent document - we inspected it further. There is no case number. The landlord reportedly (hearsay) partied with the tenants and had relations with girls. Things took a turn at some point. I was told a couple of weeks ago the landlord showed up with a hammer to the house and was arrested - but charges were dropped. I looked into that and what I found was someone with the same first and last name was arrested 5/3 for felony harassment and assault. Those charges were dropped as recently as 5/13. This is continuing to be messier than we imagined. Some things to note moving forward: 1. There is no active eviction happening from what I can tell, so neighbors by the house - heads up - they’re not leaving anytime soon unless they do so on their own free will. 2. There is a neighborhood meeting next week on Thursday with sector Captain Joe Nault. It’s concerning that York helped coordinate this meeting given his clear involvement in activities. Keep your guard up if you attempt to work with him towards a resolution. We have caught York in many lies. This doesn’t invalidate the very real concern around the party house - but it does show perhaps enabling or negligent behavior. The neighbors could very well go after their neighbor. I’ve been told already some neighbors are staying in hotels on the weekends and are considering moving out of the neighborhood. THE WATSON PATRIARCH HAS PASSED THE TORCH 🥲: Sunday mornings have become best known in this family for preparations for a full day of NFL football… But, were it not for my father, James Timothy Watson, Sr., aka “Hammer” falling in love with the game 65 years ago when his mother and grandmother finally let him play tackle football as a high school sophomore, who knows if there would’ve ever been a Tim Watson, Tré’ Watson or Christian Watson, roaming NCAA and NFL football fields… or even if so would our life-paths still have led us to the NFL. Yes, my father is who first introduced me to the game AND THE REQUISITE DEMEANOR & WORK ETHIC NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS within the game we now all love! However, on this past Sunday at 7:02AM, I held my father’s hand for the last time as he said his final goodbyes to this side of eternity. Though he himself was not raised by his father, he set an example of fatherhood and manhood of which to say I’m proud to be his son would be an understatement… YES, I meant “BE.” I will forever and always be the first born son of that big freak of an athlete known as “Hammer,” from Hunt High School. He was and is ONE OF ONE! He fathered 5 biological children, who birthed 15 grandkids, 18 great grandkids, and 2 great great grandkids; BUT he was a FATHER-FIGURE to thousands! We have been fortunate enough to not even need to toot his horn ourselves, as the community he served let us and most others know HIS POSITIVE IMPACT ON THEM throughout the years. From the Fort Valley CB Club, Project Youth, the Fort Valley Boxing Club, the Macon Chiefs, the Warner Robins Flyers, and pretty much any family that had a child pass through my mom’s Child Care Center at St. Peter or Crestwood Dr… WE KNEW OUR DAD, FORT VALLEY GA’S OWN “HAMMER,” “JT,” “SUPER STUD,” & ”SUNTAN SUPERMAN,” WAS AND IS THE TRUTH! ❤️ #YourWorkHereIsDone #DutiesAccepted #RestWellDad 🫡

@deuceohsixx Yes, and this is why it’s important to keep public restrooms clean and in working order. I experience this directly a lot with my toddler. Parks department struggles to keep its many many restrooms from getting trashed. You can’t solely throw maintenance at it.

Public restroom access is not just a homelessness issue. People who are housed & visiting downtown Seattle also have issues with finding restrooms & sometimes urinate and defecate in the alleyways. You gotta, you gotta go. Sometimes nature won’t wait for you to find a restroom.

Last night my 11 year old had a rec baseball game. After the game both teams went out to the center of the field, together, and prayed. It was such an amazing way to end a very competitive game and to put everything back into perspective. Could you imagine this happening in the PNW? 😂

We should talk more about park-washing highways. This 520 rebuild and lid was what, $90M? It’s the most useless park, loud and unpleasant. We paid ~$400/sqft for 3 acres of empty grass and sidewalk.

My doctor sent in a prescription for me to CVS, 30 pills, with 3 refills. Pharmacy calls me and says they only have 10 in stock, and offered me the 10 until they get more. I said sure. So, when my ten ran out, I called up to get the remaining 20, but they ended up only giving me 10 again, because that’s what they had given me before. That was considered my second refill. They did it again, so I ended up running out of refills in 30 days, not the 90 days the doctor called in. Had to go 2 months without my prescription, because there “was nothing we can do”. Even the doctor couldn’t get them to fix it.

I do not understand what the fuck is wrong with everyone. I don't know why everyone is so goddamned stupid. I fill an Rx at CVS and they break their neck calling me, leaving messages and texts, telling me I can pick up my script after 11 pm. I go at 7....it's not filled.

Sydney may not realize it yet… but this moment right here is bigger than she thinks. Standing next to someone she just helped, there’s no spotlight, no crowd, no big announcement, just a quiet moment that says, “I showed up for someone today.” And sometimes, those are the moments that matter the most. The ones that don’t make noise, but make a real difference. Years from now, she may not remember every lawn she mowed… but she’ll remember how it felt to be needed, to help, and to know she made someone’s day just a little easier. And that right there… that’s something that stays with you for life.

Look at that mostly empty $3,800,000,000 light rail train! Now look at that $500,000 bus overtaking it and having more flexible options for riders. Oh well, it’s just taxpayer money. Doesn’t need to be spent responsibly.

I share about 100 yards of drive way with my ~70yr old neighbors. For some reason he’s obsessed with knocking down the center grass in the middle of the tire ruts and covering it with gravel. He talks about it all the time, probably 30% of all conversations I have with him are about this. He’s asking if I want to pitch in for more gravel, etc. When I put my parents in a guest house behind the barn, my dad started talking about it too. He got some roundup and sprayed his section of road. Am I missing something here? I see no problem with it. It looks fine. It occupies 0% of my mind. I’m prepared to spend 0 dollars to remedy this “problem” What is happening?

This is a kind of dreadfully common Northern Michigan ugly-winter sky. There are no clouds and when you look up it is a very ugly yellow gray, if that color is possible. Yes, it is. This is it. There are no shadows cast because there is no sunlight that breaks through. The ground is a dull white from half melted snow. The light is actually sickening. Really. It makes you ill. Even when you are indoors the way the light falls through the windows and onto your floors is depressing. It makes the inside of your house look uglier. Your rooms look terrible, the floors and your tables are awful. Everything that is a little wrong is blown up bigger. Any of the mess looks worse and more depressing, it makes you more irritated. It's not until the sun comes out that you realize everything isn't awful and that your house isn't a total ramshackle shack. This sky is nature's equivalent of a bare fluorescent bulb on concrete. It's very bad for you. I have tried to take hyper-realistic photos this winter and this might be one of the most realistic, and most depressing for that reason.

My confidence and self worth haven’t been great lately and I just wanted to say thats ok so other people who suffer with depression or anxiety know that it’s ok to feel like that. I’m CEO of Happy Doggo and most people in positions like mine have to hide stuff like this. Most people in all positions In life do actually. It’s really hard to admit you don’t feel the best about yourself. That’s why I just write it down as I feel because maybe it’ll help someone. Between our team, partners and everything wrapped up in what I do there are probably 100+ people who rely on me. Add in social media, donors and everything else and that’s a massive happy facade to keep up. I’ve learnt though that it’s ok to say you are not ok. At the moment I’m going through the motions. Still working hard and trying my best but I feel a bit worthless. No self worth at all. I also have imposter syndrome. I know I can jus read the comments here or look at the dogs saved and I should be happy but it doesn’t bring me anything. I look in the mirror at the moment and can’t even really look at myself. No particular reason or spark for this. As people who suffer know it just comes in a dark wave like a fog. I could easily share some happy dog photos and smile and pretend I felt amazing. But I’d rather be honest and try to help others. I have untold amounts of support and good luck that many of you dont. So if you're feeling down or a little rough right now, that's okay because so am I, and it's absolutely fine to say that. Have a lovely weekend and be kind to each other ❤️
