@itskyleconner To me it makes zero sense why they would discontinue their two best long range and spacious EVs, only to have nothing replace it.

Sad to see the Model S die I’ve had 2 of them, here they are, and there are still almost no other cars that can match the acceleration, practicality, software, and ADAS As much as I’ve loved mine, I still think the car deserved a proper refresh before cancellation. A full effort redesign could have put the car that changed the world back on top. Every time I think about selling my current one, any replacement I look at will have compromises I don’t want to make.

@LiebermanAustin Model X is awesome, but going from an Odyssey to that with the size of your family seems backwards. You should consider the R1S or Gravity. Yes their driving assistant isn't doing what Tesla FSD is, but ask yourself, what's in the best interest of your family? Fsd or space?

@Tango240 @JeffreyLuscombe Saying they haven't laid a single foot of rail makes it sound as if nothing has been done. Construction has begun on the path and goes for countless miles.

Conservatives don't hate high-speed rail. They hate paying tens of billions in taxpayer dollars for high-speed rail projects where not a single foot of rail ever gets built. Like the one in California where $15 billion in funding has simply evaporated into the pockets of connected Democrats.

@DevinOlsenn Yes we need safer roads. But let's not discredit 'driving' experience entirely. Cars are safer thanks to safety systems, and modern engineering. Some like to drive. Tesla knows too: they offer performance trims and eventually a Roadster, which is all about dynamics & engagement

Fair points - I guess my rebuttal would be this. Autonomous driving WILL make our roads safer, it’s already being proven with Waymo. Over 40,000 people die in the US every year on the roads. Shouldn’t we be all excited about a possible solution to that problem? It doesn’t really matter how much people “like” driving - it’s unsafe the way we are doing it now, clearly something should change, no?

Yesterday I had to drive manually for two hours. What a nightmare. Why do people still choose to drive manually instead of using FSD? I've said it before but I will say it again - I will never own a car that cannot drive itself ever again. It would be like buying a car without an infotainment system.

@joetutino You have to be leaving some crucial info out based on that price. Otherwise you're simply not telling the truth.

@DevinOlsenn Some like driving. It can be more than going from A to B. FSD is cool, but the fun stops after that. To call self driving a “nightmare” is like saying cooking is pointless, buy takeout. People value different things. To act like Fsd is the end all be all for all misses the point.

@mvnRT Your last five posts have ZERO likes. Maybe take a quick look inward. Being rude online to an audience of none truly makes no sense to me.

Range anxiety is def still around. Kids have a field trip just 65 miles away. Charged the X to 100%, but it still took 52% of the battery, because it's cold and rainy. 65 miles. "You don't need 500 miles of range." Well how about 200 winter miles then after battery degradation, weather, and freeway speeds tax the rated mileage.

@PhonguyenFL @BronxBombers88 @teslavangelist Yes, but on a trip, stopping off for a full tank of gas takes <5 minutes. So you do not feel the penalty of going faster anywhere but the pump. On top of that, you will not go through half a tank of gas, like how the op went through half their battery.

Have you ever seen someone washing a car in San Francisco? Me neither. When was the last time anyone actually washed their own car here? I can’t remember ever seeing it happen. This photo was taken at the intersection of Lombard and Jones in the early 1970s.
