They did it before the advent of asymmetric warfare emerged as a viable long term war strategy. The IRGC isn’t going to meet the US Marines for one big battle at the Persian Gate. Also neither Turks or the Romans managed to conquer Persia. And Greece is being double counted by stating both Macedonia and Greece. Not to mention that Macedonia was being led by possibly the Greatest General of all time meanwhile the US has Pete Hegseth.

BREAKING The Lebanese government has declared Mohammad Reza Shibani, the ambassador-designate of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to be persona non grata and is giving him until Sunday to leave Lebanon. This makes four Arab nations that have expelled Islamic Republic of Iran diplomats in the last week. Lebanon joins Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar.

@RodeoProfessor Easily shuttle for me. The Zion shuttle ran pretty often (much more than every 30 minutes). Maybe a hybrid of 3 and 4 could work. Like you can technically drive everywhere, but you're kind of a dumbass if you do, because parking is always full and the shuttle is more convenient.

I strongly encourage you, if you’ve never been to Yellowstone, not to let these doomer posts bum you out. You can go to Yellowstone at peak and not experience any of this, you come in via the Cooke City NE entrance early morning, watch thousands of animals (wolves, elk, prongs) in the Lamar Valley, which is your heritage as an American, see the park, and not see any of this clusterf*ck. Sometimes you have a bad visit and you hit a jam, have some snacks and huckleberry beers in the car, so what, it’s worth it. Don’t skip it because you see the worst aspects of a visit posted online. Now, with that out of the way, the thing about the National Park crowding in America is you basically have 4 options, and 0 of these 4 are things that people want or like. I’m going to put a poll in the replies and maybe you vote on the one you like for me? First is you have “ticketed timed entry,” so if you don’t book on Rec dot Gov 6 months out, sorry but you’re probably not getting in during peak season. This is in place at high demand parks like Arches or Going to the Sun Road in Glacier. These work well for people who can plan their lives 6 months + in advance, but you lose the spontaneous American summer road trip which is a big part of the culture. Also, gate employees are suffering from unprecedented harassment and turnover from people who pull up to get in, have no idea they need a booking, and go ham on the 20 year old GS5. Option two is some form of dynamic pricing, lots of economists put ideas out like this but the social justice equity people wail about it, and I get that, you want Americans to access public land regardless of how much they make. This is probably my preferred option though, if you want to go during peak, be prepared to pay. People aren’t ready for a mid June $500-1000 YNP entry fee though, so it’s probably not really feasible. I also don’t think that’s the purpose of entry fees per the statutes that authorize our National Parks so it would be tricky. Third option is what we have today, everyone can enter but some lots (Norris, Grand Prismatic) are going to be a massive thorn in the side. The roads and lots were all designed for demand 50-100 years ago. There’s always parking over by old faithful, and a nice bar in the Old Faithful Inn. There’s always somewhere neat to see that’s not doomered out. Fourth option is you’re required to leave your car and take the shuttle around. This is in place in Zion and some parts of Rocky Mountain up near Bear Lake. Americans (including myself) like our cars and don’t necessarily want to want 30 min for a shuttle after a 10 mile hike with a bunch of kids, but this is probably the future of Yellowstone. Vote your preference in the reply for me if you want to.
MRS. MASSACRE@MrsMassacre

Is this what you thought Yellowstone Park was like? Unmoving traffic jams lasting 1-3 hours; rivaling that of suburban areas in big cities. Nowhere to park. Insane prices. Tourists harassing animals, littering, picking flowers, influencers everywhere, sticking their hands in basins and ruining them, no good camping spots left because people use AI programs to snatch up the good ones within milliseconds of the site opening up, and most of your day spent behind Asian tourist busses. The overwhelming amount of tourists have made the park experience unbearable. You used to be able to go there and explore nature peacefully. Now it's worse than Disneyland.

In Shigeaki Mori, a Japanese atomic bomb survivor from Hiroshima, President Obama saw the best of humanity, even while reflecting on one of our darkest chapters. Mori died Sunday at age 88. Today, we honor his example, which President Obama spoke to in 2016 when he visited Hiroshima on the 71st anniversary of America dropping the atomic bomb on that city. Among the more than 140,000 killed in Hiroshima, Mori discovered 30 years later that there were 12 American POWs. He researched the men and wrote to their families, who didn’t yet know how their loved ones had died. President Obama was the first sitting U.S. president to visit Hiroshima, and while there, he reflected on Mori’s work — how it connected people through their shared humanity, regardless of their countless differences: “We’re not bound by genetic code to repeat the mistakes of the past. We can learn. We can choose. We can tell our children a different story –- one that describes a common humanity; one that makes war less likely and cruelty less easily accepted. We see these stories in the hibakusha –- the woman who forgave a pilot who flew the plane that dropped the atomic bomb, because she recognized that what she really hated was war itself; the man who sought out families of Americans killed here, because he believed their loss was equal to his own.” In telling the story of the universality of loss, Mori set an example for us all and we are all better for his contributions.

I hope society becomes progressive enough that this is the norm one day. Sex work should not make someone an outcast to society and prevent them from pursuing other careers in they want to. I’ve met multiple girls who did OF to pay for law and med school. The only reason I could afford my degrees was because of OF. It’s ironic when men like to say sex work will ruin your life and you’ll never get a normal career. There are SO many people who have amazing careers and did sex work to afford the necessary steps to achieve it. You just don’t know because they don’t make it public. People want us to quit sex work but then tell us that we’ll never do anything with our lives because of it. If you want sex workers to have the option of quitting then perhaps you shouldn’t demonize and ostracize them so they can pursue other careers if they choose to.

Banning pajamas at the airport? That is a bold move 😄 Airports are already stressful, so most people just choose comfort for long flights. As long as someone is dressed decently, pajamas are hardly a crisis. Maybe let travelers focus on catching flights instead of policing sleepwear.

Breaking Bad was originally conceived to be set in Riverside, California, which made sense creatively because creator Vince Gilligan wanted the story to take place in a suburban, sun-baked environment not typically associated with crime dramas. However, before production began, the show was moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, primarily to take advantage of New Mexico’s generous tax incentives and lower production costs. California was (and still is) significantly more expensive to film in, and AMC’s budget made the move financially necessary. Interestingly, the relocation ended up improving the show creatively. Albuquerque’s desert landscapes, wide skies, and isolation became central to the show’s visual identity and themes. Gilligan has since said that the move, though initially economic, was a blessing in disguise and helped give Breaking Bad its distinct atmosphere.

Texas being absorbed and rebranded as "GreaterArkansas" is an absolute declaration of war. You cannot take the most fiercely independent state in the union and legally rename it after a place known mostly for Walmart and hot springs. There’s a debate going on about which is worse: mosquitoes or bedbugs. As someone who respects facts, trauma, and lived experience, let me be clear: Bedbugs are the worst creatures to ever exist. Mosquitoes? We Africans are built for mosquitoes. They disturb you, you slap one, you get malaria, you treat it, life moves on. Use a net, cover your body, sleep with fan, you’ll still manage to sleep. But bedbugs? Ah. When bedbugs enter your house, you are no longer the landlord. You are the tenant. In fact, you are the visitor. If ONE bedbug enters your house today, by tomorrow morning they are about 70 million. No meeting. No warning. Just multiplication. Bedbugs don’t disturb sleep, they cancel sleep. They don’t bite you, they traumatize you. If you survive bedbugs, you may need therapy to feel safe in your own bed again. Bedbugs will make you appreciate the Nigerian government. Bedbugs are worse than bandits. You can fumigate today, tomorrow, next week, one or two will still survive to tell the story. In fact, to finally defeat bedbugs, you have to leave the house for them. You relocate.. While you probably wait for Trump to Nuke your area. And let’s talk about their confidence. Bedbugs existed before beds were invented. Meaning they came prepared. Humanity just caught up later. Their scientific name is Cimex lectularius- you see the name? Bedbug is a senior lecturer. And trust me, bedbugs will lecture you about life, humility, suffering, patience and why pride is useless. In every language, the name “bedbug” never sounds friendly. In Idoma, it's called 'ikpre'. In Ebira language, it's call Ikazi (which sounds like 'irazi', meaning 'war') You dey hear am? Bedbugs is a bringer of war. No translation sounds like peace. So please, let’s stop this debate. Mosquitoes are annoying but Bedbugs are demonic. If bedbugs visit your house, you are the guest.
Peace Ighodaro💛@peace_igho
