Monga has smashed this one out of the park. In this day and age colourism can't simply be casually dismissed under the garb of banter. Good to see Cricinfo address this very unfortunate ill in desi society, which could very easily have been ignored. espncricinfo.com/story/ipl-2026…

@prasannalara He played multiple maiden overs in 2022 T20 WC. On every big day when the pressure mounts, he is usually the first one to bail out. His issue is not technical, but that of mental toughness.

Top 10 run getters in IPL 2026. Only Abhishek Sharma and Sooryavanshi are ahead of KL Rahul in terms of Strike Rate. Stats don’t lie. Why so much of unnecessary hate on KLR ?

@CricketopiaCom He struggled overseas because he had zero footwork to counter the moving ball. Did not get exposed at home where the ball hardly moves.

Remember Sadagoppan Ramesh? When Sadagoppan Ramesh debuted against Pakistan in Chennai (1999), he batted like he owned the backyard, handling Wasim & Waqar with ease. Consistent runs, a few tons, and India found a classy opener. But after struggles abroad & despite doing well in SL 2001, he was dropped mysteriously.

It’s ironic that Dravid told him to read the fingers of the spinners yet under him the players continued to read the spinning deliveries off the wicket. It’s a problem that has plagued the current set of subcontinent players since the last ten years which is why they have become average players of spin

2010 @KP24 reached out to Dravid to help him play spin better, Dravid landed up replying to him in what KP till date says is the most important read for any modern day batter on how to play on turning tracks. He also played one of the best knocks by an overseas batter vs India at mumbai, that 186 was so special. Our Indian batters should also take notes from this and their game in home conditions should improve.

Remember this? The umpires literally had to nerf Kevin Pietersen because his switch hit was too OP. 😭 Coldest way to bring up a Test century ever.🥶🔥. One of the best player of spin bowling @KP24

@Loyalsachfan10 Shahid Nazir who 😂? Seems like Wasim and Waqar didn't teach him properly how to work on the seam to reverse the ball. Those days the cameras used to be far less also, @LoyalSachinFan

@Yasir_HameedQ Saeed Anwar and Mark Waugh were two players from the 90s era who never did justice to the batting talent they had. Both should have finished with over 10,000 test runs. Mark was a great fielder too. Anwar's fielding was totally the opposite of his batting though.

Read this carefully. Ricky Ponting is also a part of the set-up that picked up bowlers like Bartlett and Dwarshuis at the Auction table. And Ricky Ponting was also the same captain who looked a distant second to Andrew Strauss over two Ashes rubbers without McGrath and Warne. And without McGrath and Warne, looked quite average over two tours to India. So he isn't some God.
Saklam muklam vivek@soma_lingam

@Fancricket12 So you're saying, ricky ponting, who's a 2time wc winning captain and probably top3 captain of all time, is taking bad decisions? Stop being delusional, captaincy matters in T20 more than any other format

@Fancricket12 that's what i had in my mind earlier but i thought that Clarke was the captain by then. Thanks for reminding me. It was a series to remember for Chris Tremlett. Gave the Aussies plenty of trouble with his short stuff.

If you want to consider all sports, then you might wanna look up to names like Don Bradman, Ali, Pele, Maradona etc. I think some of them might be ahead of MJ. He might be the greatest basketball player of all time, but he has some tough competition in front of him when all sports are taken into account.

Ponting's success rate as a captain was pretty much due to Warne & McGrath. After their retirement, Ponting lost an Ashes at home as well. The 2 WC wins would have been achieved under any other captain as well since those 2 Aussies sides were full of legends. Ponting tends to pick Aussie players in IPL for some strange reason, @Fancricket12
