This one shocks me to this day. When I was Muslim, I never noticed the Torah was counting. Once I saw it, I couldn’t stop. The Torah is obsessed with “the third day.” Over and over and over. Then Jesus walks out of a tomb on one, and the whole obsession snaps into focus. Count them. Abraham gets Isaac back like from the dead, “on the third day.” Genesis 22:4. God comes down at Sinai, “on the third day.” Exodus 19:11. Joseph’s prison-mate is lifted up, “on the third day.” Genesis 40:20. Again and again in Moses’ books: death, then deliverance. Burial, then life. The third day. The Quran doesn’t carry the pattern, and it deletes the event the whole pattern was rehearsing. Because Paul says the resurrection landed “on the third day IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCRIPTURES.” 1 Corinthians 15:4. In accordance with the Scriptures. The Torah had been running third-day dress rehearsals for 1,500 years. Fifteen centuries of rehearsals for one Sunday morning. Islam erased the resurrection the entire pattern was building toward. But you can’t un-rehearse the Scriptures, bro. The third day was never a random number. It was a drumbeat getting louder across the whole Torah, until an empty tomb finally told everybody what the drum was for. “He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” Matthew 28:6. The Torah was counting to three the whole time. And it’s all about Christ. MARANATHA.

You know what wrecked me as a Muslim? The Dead Sea Scrolls. Literally a kill shot. Once I understood what they proved, I couldn't reconcile them with Islam's claim that the Torah had been corrupted (Which is their foundational claim). For years I was told the Jews and Christians changed God's revelation. Then archaeologists discovered copies of the Hebrew Scriptures hidden centuries before Islam. And what did they find? The same Torah. The same prophets. The same promises. The same story. That mattered because the Quran repeatedly affirms the Torah that existed in Muhammad's day. So I had to ask: If the Torah was already corrupted... Why does the Quran tell people to consult it? And if the Dead Sea Scrolls show that the Torah we have today substantially matches the one preserved centuries before Muhammad... When did this corruption actually happen? Why would it have happened? That line of questioning changed my life. If the Torah wasn't rewritten, then the prophets still point to the same Messiah they always did. The Dead Sea Scrolls didn't create my faith. They forced me to reexamine the claims I had inherited. I finally saw the evidence of Christianity. Sometimes God leaves the receipts in a cave. That's one of the biggest reasons I could never go back to Islam. Praise God He did!
