@JackPosobiec I’m 63 and I’ve been watching Iran run rampant for 47 years. Hamas, Hasbulla, the Houthi’s; all Iranian proxies slaughtering thousands. It’s about fucking time a president had the stones to solve the problem.

@WallStreetMav Western Powers did such a good job telling the Germans that they were shit after World War II that they began to internalize it. They’ve decided that they’re so awful that they do not deserve to have a country.

Not only has Germany destroyed all of its nuclear power plants, they are also tearing down nearly new coal power plants. Only 6 years old and it had 40+ years of useful life remaining. Germany sanctions energy from Russia and destroys their own energy infrastructure. Then they wonder why their electricity is so expensive and factories are closing.
Lukas Ekwueme@ekwufinance

Little reminder: After Germany blew up their nuclear power plant cooling towers, last year they blew up one of their biggest coal power plants. Right in time for the biggest energy crisis in history to hit… The coal plant was: - Only 6 years old - Cost €3 billion - Produced 1,650 MW Germany is doing everything in its power to create a perpetual energy crisis.

Illinois has the most state pension debt in America — by a wide margin. How bad is it? IL Pension Debt: $145.49B The bottom 41 states combined: $145.77B IL population: ~12.7M Bottom 41 states: ~180M And Pritzker and his allies in Springfield are considering pension sweeteners that could add $76B+ more in costs for Illinois taxpayers. This is not sustainable. This is a crisis.

Kay Jennings and her Pacific vet husband owned a lawn mower shop in Springfield Virginia. In the 1960's and Toyota offered them a franchise for free. Hubby said, "I didn't fight those yellow bastards on Tarawa to sell their damn junk cars." You kust remember, dear friends, that at this time Made In Japan meant cheap garbage, but Kay took the franchise over his objections and made a fortune.

@ArthurBoreman And it wasn't that long ago that kids in the US expired young at an alarming rate. Parents would dress their corpses up and have pictures taken. Spooky, and it's one reason people had a lot of kids...for spares.

Trump is in a weird spot with Iran now. Half the base wants him to go in and finish off the regime, but that could take months and greatly jeopardize the already-fragile midterms. If he leaves early and the regime remains in place, they argue, it was all for naught. The other half insists he wrap up the war immediately or he risks embroiling the country in yet another Middle East quagmire, and by extension further hurting the markets and driving up prices. Probably no good answers here, but I lean toward the latter simply because the Iranian government is likely damaged beyond repair and babysitting such a huge country is an unnecessarily risky and complicated venture. At some point we have to return to the homefront if we are to realize the Golden Age we were promised. Don’t get me wrong: best foreign policy President since Reagan, or maybe ever, but November will be here before we know it and a Dem victory jeopardizes his entire agenda. Of course there’s some housekeeping we must take care of before heading home, but if history is any guide the sooner we plot an exit strategy the better.

By the way, after we missed our connection we had to go to the baggage claim office to see about our bags. Lady at the desk doesn't look up from her phone for the firs 3 minutes of the conversation. When she finally vaguely pays attention, she says the bags made the flight we missed (somehow) and so there's nothing she can do. We have to call the 800 number. We call the 800 number on our drive and they tell us that actually our bags were at the airport we just left. The lady at the desk didn't actually check. The service at these airports is so unfathomably shitty. You're paying top dollar to be treated like dirt by employees who can't even pretend to care at all.

Flight delayed on tarmac. Missed our connection. Based on the other flights available, which were also delayed, and the fact that taking a flight tomorrow would require getting back into a security line stretching seemingly for miles, we decided to get a car and drive five hours to our destination. That’s how bad air travel is right now. Driving is faster. Air travel is awful in this country. People don’t realize just how much it sucks unless they have to do it a lot. It’s not just TSA. Flight delays. Air traffic control issues. Service is even worse than usual. Every airport is crowded and slow and worn down and dirty. Everyone brings their dogs. The term “service animal” doesn’t mean anything anymore. Air travel used to be luxurious. People used to wear suits. Working for an airline was prestigious. The employees took it seriously. It sucks now. It’s terrible. This is the kind of thing our leaders should be fixing. Because the most frustrating thing is that it is so eminently fixable. If only anyone bothered to try.
