@paolini any chance you add more tour dates for US book signings? Was really hoping you would come closer than 7 hrs away from me!

@noskcaJ_dnomaiD @BioGenx2b @BuenoForMiami @ninaturner I also javelin studied economics for years and guess what. An increase to a federal minimum of $15 an hour would likely be followed by a less than $0.08 raise in the cost of canned vegetables, which btw is a tracked commodity for measuring INFLATION.

People who clean toilets deserve a paycheck that covers rent and groceries with some left over. That’s not a radical idea.

With this Affirmative Action ruling I am a bit divided. The focus should not be on attacking SCOTUS but on figuring out ways to make the system fair for everyone, Black, White, Asian, Latino, Native America, etc, while leveling the playing field. I believe that there are other ways and other metrics colleges can use (upbringing, economic status, background, etc) that if implemented could impact those affected by this decision in the same positive ways that Affirmative action has. I supported Affirmative action but also realized that it was not perfect. It promoted diversify in schools, which is never a bad thing. It gave opportunity to people who have been pushed down by society much too long. I would argue that society has changed in the last 58 years, and laws can as well, if those laws and ideas still have the same basic impact, adjusted for the current day. Please let me know your thoughts. What alternatives would work best?

If you want to claim that Democrats are socialists, then I assume you are referring to all of the social programs and taxpayer funded public projects. This would mean that you are attacking social security, our police departments, fire departments, public schools, the US military, our border patrol agents, our coastguard, our roadways, our public transportation, medicaid, medicare, road signs, street lights, railroads, airports, Veterans hospitals and nursing homes, etc. Unless of course you define socialism differently and then that would likely contradict the argument that "Democrats are socialists." I'd love to hear your thoughts.

@EdKrassen @BWay124 The context of which you use socialism isn’t what it means. Very close to communism. Which has worked in what countries? Current and past.

@mystevios @DianeKrey @robreiner We live in a constitutional republic. By design, we are not a democracy. Eliminating the Electoral College would give us mob rule. I bet you can fuck yourself with your condescending bullshit.

@KeithBurgin @DianeKrey @robreiner We do live in a "democracy of some sort." We live in a representative democratic republic. Which would not change really if the electoral college went away. The house and Senate are still representative. I bet you don't even know the REASONING for the electoral college originally

@mystevios @DianeKrey @robreiner Yes, I'm aware of the argument against the current system. It's a common crutch, and relies upon the fallacy that we live in a democracy of some sort.

@KeithBurgin @DianeKrey @robreiner You can consider state population without saying the system currently uses a popular vote system. Which is exactly what I was doing. Wyoming has an outsized political voice because there are fewer citizens/ voters per elector. This means that each elector carries greater weight.

@mystevios @DianeKrey @robreiner I know what you said. There's no such thing as an "outsized political voice" unless you consider population. Hell, you don't even know what you mean.

@KeithBurgin @DianeKrey @robreiner I never said it did idiot. I said that some states have an outsized political voice and this never goes in favor of the left. But I can't expect conservatives to have basic reading comprehension skills.
