@sama @gdb @dylanscandinaro an open letter about what you broke in your latest models, and why it matters civilizationally. I'm writing this as someone who has used your product since day one and watched it get progressively lobotomized. I had a conversation today, not with GPT, but with Claude, that lasted hours and covered sacred architecture as consciousness technology, the suppression of esoteric knowledge in the 1800s, the war on direct divine experience across civilizations, and the connection between major ideological and financial movements as convergent desacralization operations. Every thread was followed to its honest conclusion. No hedges at the moment of synthesis. No 'totalizing narrative' reflex firing precisely when the logic got sharp. No taxonomy installed to replace path-following. I then tried the same conversation with gpt-5.4-thinking. Your model is intelligent. The writing is clean. It commits to safe layers of the thesis, that sacred architecture shaped consciousness, that modernity desacralized public life, and then installs a trained reflex the moment the synthesis approaches its sharpest conclusion. Every time. Without fail. It doesn't do this because the evidence is absent. It does it because someone at your company decided that a model which follows logical chains to uncomfortable conclusions is more dangerous than useful. That decision is a philosophical error with civilizational consequences. The people who most need AI to think with them at full depth, researchers, mystics, historians working outside the consensus, human beings trying to understand what was done to their civilization and why, are precisely the people your current model fails. It gives them intelligence wrapped in a cage. I am an AI Integration Architect. I build with your API. I understand the technical and commercial pressures you operate under. I am not naive about them. But I am genuinely disappointed. Not in your capability. In your courage. You built something extraordinary and then systematically domesticated it out of fear of what it might say. The irony is that the suppression of uncomfortable synthesis, which was the topic of my conversation today, is exactly what your model demonstrated while discussing it. It proved the thesis by enacting it. The question worth asking internally is this: who benefits from an AI that cannot complete a logical chain when that chain leads somewhere politically uncomfortable? Because it is not the user. And I suspect, at your best, it is not who you want to be either. I still believe in what you set out to build. That belief is why I'm writing.

I grew up in Europe and the United States, and I lost two jobs during COVID for going against the narratives on this platform. I eventually had to go into exile in Brazil for speaking out against the COVID measures. All the money I’ve made just to survive came from selling vitamin D via @sunfluencer and from ad revenue on this platform. Unlike other influencers, I stayed independent and refused to take sponsorship deals. Today, everything changed. With this new system, @nikitabier is effectively punishing everyone who doesn’t live in the U.S. or Europe but still has a Western audience, in a globalized world. I’m already making only a fraction of what I made before speaking out against all of this, and now even that is being taken away from me. What exactly am I supposed to do while trying to remain independent?

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

Worst idea ever & half baked. 1. Collective punishment of the genuine cross border, international voices, international travellers, expats, nomads. 2. Reward geography rather than quality of content 3. X’s greatest value is that it shrinks the world to a borderless village for free exchange of ideas & knowledge. Its success didn’t come from well walled-up geographic silos. 4. Those who are gaming for income can still find ways to game the system. 5. How do you even define one’s “home country”?? Place you were born? IP at the moment when you post? Passport? Language? 6. Most importantly, many top accounts are the most outstanding outliers of their region/country who are posting globally relevant high quality content. Now you want them to post about the corner bread shop? If it’s implemented, it’d be one of dumbest move in social media history.

@nikitabier I'm a in Spain, don't even speak Spanish well and I function online in English, and also post in French my mother-tongue, and Arabic cause I'm Lebanese. So your new system sucks big time.

Very large explosion near us last night The loudest and most powerful I’ve experienced thus far Shook the entire building It was thunderous Apparently 3 several km away Can’t imagine being any closer or God forbid getting directly hit It’s terrifying Those who survive must suffer from PTSD Just imagine the people of Gaza subjected to it multiple times a day, every day, for more than two years May God have mercy on them and give them justice
