@Luas hi any chance you can run more morning (7.30-8.30am) trains towards Cherrywood vs ending them at Sandyford? The large numbers offloaded at Sandyford who have to wait, indicate big demand especially to Central Park stop. Seems to be most days. Ps overall service is very good
@RailUsersIe I’m not confident we will see any extra services in either 2026 or 2027. We might see a marginal reduction in short trains in Q.4 2027 but the level of house completions planned in West and North Dublin in next 18 months is going to deliver big capacity challenges. @TFIupdates 😴
Short train occurances will continue & increase in frequency until mid 2027 when new trains will become available
Commuter fleet in Dublin is 22 years old, 32 in Cork, half the DART fleet is 42 years old
Lack of funding, political indecision & short term thinking to blame
@mytrainislate1 The signalling issue has been resolved and is only expected to cause knock-on delays to other services, however, they are expected to ease and cause minimal delays - MH
@fergus_sharkey It’s the train before it that’s 4 carriages today. Standing only from Balbriggan which is a long distance to be standing for. It would be great if the IE App could include when trains are half size. Standard responses like ‘as scheduled’ mean very little to rail customers
@GanderNext The IE IT who does the IE App took the day off 😄….nothing wud surprise me with anything involving customer communication interfaces with public transport in Ireland. @TFIupdates 😴
@IrishRail any chance you could give an update on Malahide originating Darts? Your app is saying on time but get to station and showing significant delays.
@IrishRail Thanks it had an empty path ahead of it but unfortunately next Dart was stuck 15 mins behind it. It’s more the lack of customer communication on the ground that’s so frustrating
@ceindreadh Nearly every complaint today re Luas was about lack of customer communication on platforms etc. something gone wrong in a big way. Unfortunately it is exactly the same on Irish Rail. So frustrating and we deserve better…
@Luas I am well aware of the delays. The inconvenience arose when the LUAS was standing at a a stop for what seemed like an indefinite period of time and we were not being told anything. That’s the problem I was complaining about.
⚠️Passengers, please be advised Red Line Services are currently operating with delays while we work to regulate the line due to an earlier power failure. Please allow for extra time when travelling. Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the service disruption. You can use your Leap Card on all TFI services. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. @TFIupdates
@LarissaNikolaus@Luas@ppskibinski Not sure having idle buses with drivers waiting by is the answer but this idea that Irish Rail also have of simply telling their customers to get a bus is simply a non runner. We need proper contingency with back up generators etc
@Luas@ppskibinski That's not what was asked, there needs to be contingency replacement buses for disruptions like that, Dublin Bus is already at its limits without adding disgruntled Luas passengers into the mix. Please pass this on to whoever is responsible. It's something done everywhere else.
⚠️Passengers, please be advised Red Line Services are currently not operating from Black Horse to Connolly/The Point. Services are currently only operating from Tallaght/Saggart to Black Horse. This is due to power failure. Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the service disruption. You can use your Leap Card on all TFI services. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. @TFIupdates
@Luas Do you not have a proper contingency? These power failures are becoming more regular and seem to take a prolonged period to resolve. Not the norm in other🚊 systems around the world. Irish Rail equally very poor for contingencies and passengers just abandoned 😕
@mytrainislate1 Hi Garrett, I have posted regarding the ongoing delays through the city centre and have updated this on the app/journey planner also. -AD
@jacksonlambyid if u ring the Drogheda depot manager at 0878185117 he can see if found when the train went for cleaning. U need to specify the exact train and exact location to stand a better chance of its return. Good luck with that
