Watching the remainder of the World Cup feels like selling a call. France is far and away the best team and anything short of them winning the World Cup will feel like an asterisk. I do want to see The Dictator go out with the a few hat tricks before this is over though.

@zaheerebtikar Can’t tell if you guys are trolling or haven’t seen Spain play / know Argentina ability to just win anything anytime but imo it’s so much better to go into the semis as "underdog" than fav like this. The more I spend time on CT the more I want to hedge my chauvinism again :D

Now that the US is knocked out, I am formally extending an invitation to the American people to support Norway. Why? 1: The Vikings discovered America before Columbus. 2: There are more ethnic Norwegians in the US than in Norway. 3: Next weekend we can pillage the English peasants together. 4:

New craziness: I got blocked by one of my childhood heroes, @paulg, because I wrote a respectful comment disagreeing with him about the Paraguay France match. I love reading his blog posts. Sad to see.

@euler_mab They sold the token at discount to VCs that are vested so that supply wont hit the market for a little while

I sincerely doubt the number is that high. Insane if so. But the point about using a low float high FDV token to strike deals for exclusive integrations still stands. People used to say to me all the time at Euler: “do more BD.” But lack of integrations almost always was nothing to do with BD efforts. Very few people we didn’t speak to during my time there. It almost always came down to money. “So and so are offering X millions for an exclusive integration, what can you do?” I assume most of those types of deals were done with tokens and not real $ because the numbers were often eye watering. And we had 1/100th of budget or less than competitors because of the depressed EUL token price. So we would always get excluded or pushed aside once someone else came in. Sometimes people talked to us enthusiastically one day and completely ghost us the next once they’d agreed a deal elsewhere. With the benefit of hindsight I think we should have tried to take Euler private and start again with the token. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. It wasn’t the same regulatory environment as we have now and there were lots of arguments against doing that. The point is that you really need a highly valued token to compete for liquidity and integrations in lending though. The tech is very much secondary to your ability to pay in the early years to bootstrap liquidity and integrations. It does make me wonder what will happen when all these pay to play token holders start to take profit after vesting ends or hedge out their exposure though.

Someone told me it comes from a $100m fee Morpho paid for the integration, idk tho

I'm usually silent on social media. @Marczeller, you represent the last hope of DAOs. So sad this is ending and now nobody is talking about decentralization. It's a new turn for the history of crypto. I met @Nandy_ba 3times, you had built a crack team. waiting for your next move

Today marks the official last day of @Aavechan. A bit more than 3 years ago we launched as an underdog delegate platform, without support from Labs, VCs, or entities, but strong from community backing. The situation was dire. "DeFi is dead" was commonly accepted, Aave TVL had collapsed to a quarter of its cycle peak, the protocol was leaking tens of millions in incentives and operating expenses to leech service providers, while Labs was pivoting to raise money for a soon-to-fail social media platform. During our tenure, we turned a 35M annual protocol deficit into a 150M/y revenue machine, outperformed far better-funded competition, saw $AAVE do a 9x and beat the market, and built an active network of top-tier aligned talent, service providers, and delegates. We proved to the world that a DAO could be done, and could outperform. We're proud of that. None of it would have been possible without you. We're deeply grateful for every bit of support, and for the $AAVE holders who trusted us with their voting power, our success was yours and the North will remember in due time. Today is the end of a chapter, but far from the end of the journey. Still have a few good ideas to build the future of France, and expect news soon on something new.
