@nPosho @__tinygrad__ You have some good points, but ,,zero integrity'' is not what I would say for Geohot, he's given away most of his work for free for all his life. Still, Tinygrad needs competition in consumer cards to grow, so it just makes sense to advertise the underdog.

An NVIDIA 5090 ($3000) has similar FP16 with FP32 accumulate FLOPS as an AMD 9070XT ($750). 209.5 vs 194.6 TFLOPS The 5090 could be made twice as fast with a simple OTA software update, but NVIDIA chooses to artificially limit it for market segmentation. AMD doesn't.

@marcodisarra @__tinygrad__ It’s hilarious how “best value” always comes from people who never ship. If ROCm is so good, show me one job that requires it, just one real world product built on it and used by a large-scale company. You don’t hire for ROCm. You cope with it.

@nPosho @__tinygrad__ He obviously sold more nvidia ones than amd. Nvidia has better software but actually AMD cards are the best TFLOP/Dollar wise.

We got the MI300X on MLPerf. We aren't looking to sell the company, but we're open to a $2M contract to have it beat the H100 time in the next round. We still encourage AMD to open source their firmware.

Runway pide croppear, se hizo, ventaja por que asi nos evitamos reconstruir las manos. Si bien el shot queda muy cerrado este AR me ha permitido más libertad creativa cuando hay que hacer estos crops. El prompt ultra sencillo la verdad, pero no sabía que me iba a costar 60 creditos este movimiento. Hand held static and stabilized shot." 5 segundos, 1280x720, no tardó ni 2 minutos en hacerse, si le podemos agregar ruido ambiental y expresión verbal o vocalizaciones de la modelo sería ideal. Áreas de mejora: ¿fuera de la cartera para más créditos? Ninguno, fué one shot! El video se interpoló y escaló con Topaz Video AI, 24fps > 60 FPS, 1280x720 > 1440x2560 Con la RTX 4080 lo hizo en 15 segundos. Muy buen tiempo y excelente optimización. Modelos por default. Áreas de mejora: no se notó la brisa en el cuarto y mejoraría un poco el movimiento de los ojos, faltó comentar un difusor en frente de la modelo. Impresionante el transporte de luz representado por el glow del guante en la cara, path tracing REAL (no es cierto es luz) PERO ES LO MISMO. Topaz Labs Video AI si bien se me hace caro, ayuda mucho al resultado final. (aunque aquí estás viendo el original). Sé lo que quería lograr, lo obtuve y un poco más, estas herramientas valen (bastante) pero que poder tenemos en nuestras manos. Estos experimentos me hacen muy feliz.

La imagen partió de mj, les comparto mi prompt en el alt, actualmente estoy enfocado en editorial, nada más, un poco de futurismo de vez en cuando pero estoy bien encerrado en ese tema, espero sea momentáneo. Área de mejora: quisiera menos indiferencia en la cara pero se entiende en los modelos entrenados por físicas reales por que la expresión corresponde perfectamente a la situación, la dispersión del sol en la piel es perfecta pero creo que me hubiera gustado (definitivamente) advertir de un par de difusores presentes y las manos (como siempre) necesitan trabajo, pero la clave siempre está en el AR raro que siempre damos, mejor que estar con el cuadro 1:1 aburrido de siempre. Estoy en mi etapa de brillitos y agua, un sueño poder crear imágenes de este estilo sin tener que invertir una fortuna en hacer el call, firmar contratos, props, lugares, MUA, HS y demás. Con un buen LORA se podrían hacer hasta pre-sesiones pero ese tiempo esta por terminar.

He abandonado un poco la difusión local y estoy experimentando con MJ y Runway Gen 4 y es increíble lo que logramos en 7 minutos de trabajo y el resultado 100% sintético me encanta, el proceso fue ONE SHOT en TODO, estoy flipando de verdad, un poco de workflow 🧵:

𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 They still have the brand name, a lot of data and tons of (mostly unpaid) users, but: • GPT 4.5 is hugely expensive • Even so it offers no decisive advantage over competitors; zero moat. • Scaling hasn’t gotten them to AGI • GPT-5 project was a failure; there is already starting to be an “is that all they have got reaction?” (See @jeremyphoward analysis below.) • DeepSeek led to a price war that cuts potential profits • There is still no killer app • OpenAI is likely still losing $ on every prompt • A bunch of investment turns to debt if they can’t make the transition to nonprofit fast enough, and Elon has perhaps upped the cost • Many many top people have left (Sutskever, Murati, Schulman, recently, Amodei and Karpathy before, etc and many more) • Some have started serious competitors with similar IP • Because OpenAI’s burn rate is so high, they have limited runway • Microsoft no longer fully has their back • Altman’s credibility has diminished. • Sora went nowhere; Veo2 is probably better • Whatever lead they had two years ago has been squandered If Masa changes his mind, they will have serious cash problems. (And Elon is right that they don’t have all or most of the Stargate funding in hand).. Lastly, Altman was the right CEO to launch ChatGPT, but he may not have the intellectual vision to get them to the next level.
