நெல்லுக்கு ஊக்கத்தொகை வழங்கக் கூடாது என்று மத்திய அரசு சொல்லவில்லை. முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் பொய் சொல்கிறார் என்று மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் அவர்கள் கொந்தளித்திருக்கிறார். மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சகத்தால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட கடிதம் இங்கே பதிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சர் பொறுப்பில் இருந்து கொண்டு இப்படிப் பொய் சொல்லலாமா நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் அவர்களே? "பொய் சொன்ன வாய்க்குப் போஜனம் கிடைக்காது" என்ற தமிழ்ப் பழமொழியைத் தங்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறேன். மத்திய அரசுதான் நெல்லுக்கு உரிய விலை தரவில்லை. கொடுக்கிற மகராசன்களை (மாநில அரசுகளை) தடுக்காமலாவது இருக்கலாம் அல்லவா? முழுப் பூசணிக்காயை இலைச் சோற்றில் மறைக்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டால், நீங்கள் அம்பலப்பட்டுத்தான் போவீர்கள்.

திமுகவின் 8 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் கூப்பன் நாடகத்தால், திருச்சி மண்ணச்சநல்லூரில் சகோதரி ஒருவர் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டதாக வரும் செய்தி, நெஞ்சைப் பதற வைக்கிறது. மக்களை ஏமாற்றுவதையே தன் வாழ்நாள் கடமையாகக் கொண்டுள்ள திமுக, தற்போதைய தேர்தலிலும் 8000 ரூபாய் கொடுப்பதாகவும், மீண்டும் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த பிறகு அதைப் பயன்படுத்தி, வீட்டிற்குத் தேவையான பொருள்களை வாங்கிக்கொள்ளலாம் என்றும் கூறி வருகின்றனர்.  இந்த 2026 சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலில் எப்படியும் ஏமாற்றியாவது வெற்றியைப் பெற வேண்டும் என்று குட்டிக்கரணம் போட்டு வரும் திமுகவின் தோல்வி பயத்தின் அறிகுறி தான் எட்டாயிரம் ரூபாய் கூப்பன் அறிவிப்பு. சாதாரண மக்களின் ஜனநாயக உரிமைகளுக்கான தேர்தல் என்ன சதுரங்க வேட்டையா? உங்கள் அதிகாரப் பசிக்காக அப்பாவிகளை ஏமாற்றிப் பிழைக்க, இதென்ன இரிடியம் விற்பனையா? மக்களை ஏமாற்றும் மண்ணுளிப் பாம்பா அல்லது வாக்காளர்களை ஏமாற்றும் ரைஸ் புல்லிங்கா இந்த எட்டாயிரம் ரூபாய் கூப்பன்? இன்று இந்த ஜனநாயக விரோத எட்டாயிரம் ரூபாய் கூப்பன் விநியோகம் செய்யும்போது திமுகவினரின் ஆபாச வசவுகளைத் தாங்க இயலாமல், மன உளைச்சலால் திருச்சி மண்ணச்சநல்லூரில் சகோதரி ஒருவர் தன்னுடைய உயிரை மாய்த்துக்கொண்டார் என்கிற செய்தி உங்கள் மனசாட்சியை உலுக்கவில்லையா ஸ்டாலின் சார்? இந்தக் கொடூரச் செயலுக்குக் காரணமான கயவர்கள் உடனடியாகக் கைது செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். அத்தோடு மக்களை ஏமாற்றும் இத்தகைய சதிகாரச் சதுரங்க வேட்டை மோசடிகளைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் உடனடியாகத் தலையிட்டு, அதிரடி  நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டு தடுத்து நிறுத்த வேண்டும்.

Imagine the Lok Sabha has 543 seats today. To win a majority, you need 272 seats. Uttar Pradesh (UP) has 80 seats, Tamil Nadu (TN) has 39. A uniform 50% increase multiplies every state’s seats by 1.5: UP gets 120 seats (+40), TN gets ~59 seats (+20). Total seats become 816, so the new majority target is 409 seats. Percentages stay the same (UP still ~14.7% of total), but absolute numbers matter for winning. The majority target rose by 137 seats (409‑272). However, big northern states like UP, MP and Bihar together gain more than 200 extra seats, while all southern states gain only ~65 extra seats. A party that wins all seats in UP gets 40 more MPs toward the 409 target, but the same win in TN adds only 20 more MPs. So, even though it’s proportional, the larger absolute gain in the North makes it easier for a north‑strong party to reach the higher majority threshold with less help from the South. Thus, the status quo of percentages is maintained, but northern states gain a practical advantage in forming a government.

This is political punishment. Punishment for controlling population. Punishment for investing in education. Punishment for doing exactly what the nation asked us to do. For decades, South Indian states acted responsibly , built human capital, strengthened public systems, and contributed disproportionately to India’s economy. And now, the reward? Fewer voices in Parliament. Let that sink in. States that governed better are being pushed to the margins, while political power shifts purely on population numbers. This is not federalism. This is a structural imbalance in the making. Is India still a Union of States or are we heading toward permanent dominance by a few, at the cost of others? Representation cannot come at the cost of balance. Democracy cannot mean silencing those who performed better. If delimitation happens without safeguards, it won’t just redraw constituencies , it will redraw the idea of India itself. SOUTH INDIA IS NOT ASKING FOR PRIVELEGE. I fully support our CM, Thiru M.K. Stalin's message on the delimitation exercise. I will explain this with the example of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The total seats in Lok Sabha today is 543. Tamil Nadu has 39 seats. Uttar Pradesh has 80 seats. The difference is 41 seats. Now assume all seats are increased by 50 percent to keep percentage representation the same. Tamil Nadu may get 59 seats and Uttar Pradesh 120 seats. The difference grows to 61 seats. On paper, this looks fair. The percentage share remains almost the same. Bills are passed by majority, so it seems like nothing has changed. But real power in Parliament is not just about voting on bills. A larger number of MPs gives a state more influence in how Parliament functions day to day. It increases their presence in key committees, their say in shaping laws, and their weight in coalition politics when governments are formed. This is where absolute numbers start to matter. Even today, the difference of 41 seats gives Uttar Pradesh significantly more influence than Tamil Nadu. If that gap becomes 61 seats, the imbalance only grows, even if the percentages look unchanged. This is the core issue. In a centralised system, representation based purely on population will keep concentrating power in a few large states. That is why this delimitation issue is tricky. We need a solution that does not end up penalising states like Tamil Nadu that managed population growth better. These problems arise because we do not have genuine federalism today. Too much power sits with the Union government. I actually believe we need to rethink our Constitution and move to genuine, decentralised federalism. This would give more autonomy to the states and limit the power of the Union government. That is the only way we can avoid these types of issues that can harm our unity. Unity between states is strengthened by more autonomy. It does not come from more central control.
