Today in Ottawa, we announced the filing of a lawsuit against the government of Canada for violating its duty to prevent genocide.
Our clients, two Palestinian Canadians whose families in Gaza have been devastated by Israel's genocidal rampage, allege that Canada has violated their constitutional rights.
It is time for @JustinTrudeau and @MelanieJoly to answer for their support for Israel's genocidal regime.

Israel has blocked aid from entering northern Gaza and has said clearly that Palestinians will not be allowed to return home.

Sure. I looked at 1948 critically and came to the conclusion the British overpromised the land to two people, six Arab states started a war to forcefully take it all, and the Jews miraculously won.
Now Israel has spent 76 years dealing with egos that cannot accept that when you start wars there are consequences, including lost land, dead civilians and closed borders.

SoA acts like English PEN when it comes to Ukraine, but fights to remain silent on the Gaza genocide! I will join whatever collective protest mounts, and if it’s not effective I will leave, as other members are doing already.

None of the people demanding such statement have however condemned ethnic cleansing, apartheid, human rights violation and genocide before and after that date. Says all about them + their vote 1/2

@leoneross @QueerManxPoet @Soc_of_Authors @AnnaGunin @ProfSunnySingh I only assumed that some of them might, or mention of the hostages at least. The large number of abstentions, suggested to me some people had reservations. And one speaker against called the current wording 'partisan'. A longer debate + clearer process could have addressed this.
