@pakistanwalli Iran should only play one card now: tell the world that they intentionally allowed the rescue. They can frame it with some humanitarian angle. The world will believe them because low-altitude flights like this are easy targets, and yet they allowed it to happen.

Where have the downed USAF pilots gone in Iran? It has been about 40 hours since Iran shot down a USAF F-15E in southern Khuzestan province, but none of the pilots has been spotted or confirmed captured. U.S. claims that one of the two pilots was recovered. However, this is just a claim and could be tactical deception, to deceive and demoralize the IRGC and protect the pilots. They said that only one was recovered because the combat search and rescue (CSAR) operation cannot be stopped. All possible scenarios (let me know if I missed any, I'm lazy today!) 1. One pilot ejected, one didn’t. The pilot who didn’t eject crashed with the aircraft and perished in the fire. Iranians found one ejection seat. The pilot who ejected was recovered. 2. Both pilots ejected, separated. One pilot drifted far from the other during ejection. One was recovered, while the other was fatally injured during ejection and is lying somewhere in the mountains. 3. Pilots are hiding and awaiting extraction. Pilots are specially trained to survive in such situations. Their first priority is to avoid detection, hide, and arrange for extraction. They may be hiding and waiting for a safe extraction. CSAR claims elsewhere could be a diversion. 4. The pilots are protected by locals. Pilots carry a pistol but are trained not to engage in firefights. Fighting would reduce their chances of survival. They carry pamphlets in multiple languages, including Persian, which offer rewards and potential relocation to the U.S. for anyone who assists them. If a pilot found a friendly local, they could be hiding under protection, waiting for the right moment to call for extraction. 5. Pilots were captured or killed by Iranians. It is possible the Iranians captured the pilots and are not publicly claiming it. If they had captured them alive, they would have paraded them on camera already. 6. Iran could have captured them but is keeping them secret to use in future negotiations. Also, if the pilots are hiding and in touch with the CSAR mission, U.S. drones and aircrafts would be monitoring the area and protecting them, ready to strike anyone who approaches until extraction is complete. If the pilots are still out there somewhere, it is a reminder how large, wild and dark Iranian landscape is. U.S. trying to invade Iran and fight Iranians in this landscape will be suicidal, Iraq and Afghanistan on steroids!
