The idea that development should pause to accommodate resistance from a section of transporters is simply untenable. The strike against free bus services for women and the expansion of Smart City buses reflects a misplaced priority. For years, commuters have faced serious issues due to the conduct of many private transporters—rash driving, arbitrary stops, disregard for designated bus stops and traffic signals, and frequent overloading. These are not isolated complaints but a daily reality for the public. It is also important to highlight that after 5 PM in winter and 7 PM in summer, several areas such as Dargah, Lalbazar, Pampore, HMT, Buchpora and adjoining localities are left stranded, as many transporters simply stop operating on these routes. This leaves residents with little to no reliable means of transport during crucial evening hours. Public transport is meant to serve people, not inconvenience them. Initiatives like free travel for women and the introduction of modern, regulated Smart City buses are steps toward safer, more inclusive, and more efficient urban mobility. Opposing such measures raises questions about whether public welfare is truly the concern. Progress cannot be held hostage to vested interests. Development, especially when it benefits the wider population, must move forward—firmly and without compromise.

Yesterday , I had the opportunity to inaugurate the new eye care facility of Dr Agarwals Eye Clinic at Alamgari Bazar, Srinagar. Improved access to timely eye care is essential for better health outcomes, especially in view of rising concerns relating to vision impairment, diabetes-linked eye conditions, and preventive screening. I appreciate the efforts of Dr Atif Ali Mir, Dr Shazia Shafi, Dr Raheel, Dr Athar Fayaz Shah, Dr Arshi Nazir Shikari, Dr Amjad Sofi and their colleagues in creating this advanced facility for the people of Srinagar. Such initiatives complement public health systems and help strengthen the larger healthcare ecosystem of the city. Wishing the team success in serving the community.

People who say “Kashmiri Pandits should have fought” how? Go to Kashmir not as a tourist but to live. Buy a home settle ,say you’ll stay. Then see the difference.Sometimes survival not fighting is the only choice.

Cancer is no longer a distant word in #Kashmir. It is in our neighbourhoods, our families, our hospitals that cannot keep up. And we are still not asking the hardest question: what are we eating? Pesticide soaked produce, ultra processed imports, and food stripped of everything our land once gave freely. We traded nutrition for convenience and are now paying in diagnoses. This #WorldHealthDay, Kashmir does not need awareness. It needs action. Go back to the garden. The cure was always in the soil.

When there was no elected government in 2023–24, the Power Grid Corporation approved a Tesla MRI unit worth around ₹20 crore under its CSR initiative after a request from then DC of Anantnag, Syed Fakhrudin Hamid. When the MRI unit arrived at the hospital, health Minister Sakeena Itoo left the assembly session in Jammu and flew to Kashmir along with six other NC MLAs to inaugurate it, which is fine. But the irony is that the inauguration nameplate doesn’t mention the Power Grid Corporation, the company which funded the project and made the facility possible.

@kw841 Who told you this? We used to not even touch the utensils of those converts, we had a different name for them which cant say here. Kashmiri Hindus are solid, no one has been able to convert us 1% from 1400 years. Also, one of the reason for our exile is that we are Kattar Hindus.

Passenger Advisory from Srinagar Airport : It has been observed that some passengers are arriving at the airport for flights scheduled beyond 1700 hrs. Kindly note that, due to revised watch hours, flight operations are currently aligned with the updated schedule. It has also been noticed that this issue is largely arising in cases where tickets have been booked through agents without updated schedule information. Passengers are therefore requested to kindly check the latest flight status directly with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport. Your cooperation will help ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.

@ujjwalscript Good points ! But the chai you take might have e.coli, urea and detergent. The air you breathe drops your lifespan . The food you order is full of carcinogens (adulteration ) Take these factors into PPP model.

I left my job as a Developer at Microsoft in US, and moved to India for a remote job opportunity. It changed my life for better: 1. The "PPP" Superpower: In Seattle, $250k is "comfortable." In Delhi, it is "Dynasty Wealth" (Family House). My rent dropped 80%. My savings rate hit 90%. I stopped looking at menu prices. 2. The "Time" Dividend: No more lonely winters. No more frozen dinners. No more 2-hour commutes on the 101. Now, I have chai with my parents every evening. I have a cook. I have a driver. I have time (Yes I pay them well). 3. The Career Hack: I didn't "step down." I stepped up. Remote work strips away the "visa anxiety." I focus purely on the building good products. And on my own ideas. I didn't leave the US to retire. I left to actually live.

Last quarter I rolled out Microsoft Copilot to 4,000 employees. $30 per seat per month. $1.4 million annually. I called it "digital transformation." The board loved that phrase. They approved it in eleven minutes. No one asked what it would actually do. Including me. I told everyone it would "10x productivity." That's not a real number. But it sounds like one. HR asked how we'd measure the 10x. I said we'd "leverage analytics dashboards." They stopped asking. Three months later I checked the usage reports. 47 people had opened it. 12 had used it more than once. One of them was me. I used it to summarize an email I could have read in 30 seconds. It took 45 seconds. Plus the time it took to fix the hallucinations. But I called it a "pilot success." Success means the pilot didn't visibly fail. The CFO asked about ROI. I showed him a graph. The graph went up and to the right. It measured "AI enablement." I made that metric up. He nodded approvingly. We're "AI-enabled" now. I don't know what that means. But it's in our investor deck. A senior developer asked why we didn't use Claude or ChatGPT. I said we needed "enterprise-grade security." He asked what that meant. I said "compliance." He asked which compliance. I said "all of them." He looked skeptical. I scheduled him for a "career development conversation." He stopped asking questions. Microsoft sent a case study team. They wanted to feature us as a success story. I told them we "saved 40,000 hours." I calculated that number by multiplying employees by a number I made up. They didn't verify it. They never do. Now we're on Microsoft's website. "Global enterprise achieves 40,000 hours of productivity gains with Copilot." The CEO shared it on LinkedIn. He got 3,000 likes. He's never used Copilot. None of the executives have. We have an exemption. "Strategic focus requires minimal digital distraction." I wrote that policy. The licenses renew next month. I'm requesting an expansion. 5,000 more seats. We haven't used the first 4,000. But this time we'll "drive adoption." Adoption means mandatory training. Training means a 45-minute webinar no one watches. But completion will be tracked. Completion is a metric. Metrics go in dashboards. Dashboards go in board presentations. Board presentations get me promoted. I'll be SVP by Q3. I still don't know what Copilot does. But I know what it's for. It's for showing we're "investing in AI." Investment means spending. Spending means commitment. Commitment means we're serious about the future. The future is whatever I say it is. As long as the graph goes up and to the right.
