Obsidian Importer now helps you easily convert your Apple Notes data to portable files that you can use with any Markdown app. Supports tables, images, drawings, scans, PDFs, and links introduced in iOS 17. Three months ago, we introduced Importer as an open-source project. Thanks to contributions from the Obsidian community, Importer supports converting your data from Notion, Evernote, Google Keep, Microsoft OneNote, Bear, Roam Research, HTML files, and more. The latest version of Importer tackles the most challenging format to date: Apple Notes. Unfortunately, Apple Notes is one of the few note-taking apps that does not have a built-in export feature. Because Apple Notes uses a proprietary format, it makes data complicated to migrate, and nearly impossible to use in conjunction with other tools. Apple Notes supports content such as tables, images, drawings, scans, and PDFs. As of iOS 17 it also supports links between notes. This breadth of content makes the conversion process more challenging. Here’s the good news: all of these content types can now be extracted using Obsidian Importer. So, how does it work? Apple Notes stores your data in a local SQLite database. This data is in an undocumented format, but it’s possible to decode how it is stored and convert it. Decoding the Protocol Buffers stored in the Apple Notes database was made possible by the work of Jon Baumann from Ciofeca Forensics and its adaptation for Obsidian by Mir Novov. Whether you’re planning to migrate away from Apple Notes or just want to back up your data, the new Obsidian Importer gives you the freedom to easily convert your Apple Notes to portable, durable files.

@ASimpleNotion @heyassim Hopping in here to say I’ve also switched to pen and paper lately and my Notion dashboard is now collecting dust. So far it feels like it’s making a big difference. My adhd brain is also loving it. 👌🏼

A few years ago I would sit outside on my balcony every morning and journal. The sun would rise and warm my skin as I sat there peacefully enjoying the fresh morning air. It was one of my favourite things to do. And then I moved house… I still had a balcony but it was on a loud main road and the sun came up the other side of the house. My journalling practice stopped. Many days of personal reflection missed. Fast forward to today… We’ve just come out of a cold winter here in Australia and spring is warming the air. Let me tell you, there is no better feeling than the change of season from winter to spring. Last weekend I decided I needed a balcony again. So I got 2 chairs and a milk crate and placed them outside in my garden. I’m sitting here, journaling, the fresh spring air around me and the warm spring sun basking me in all its glory. This is my happy place. And my lesson from this is: Your environment shapes your habits. Now excuse me while I get back to my journal…

@heyassim Yes I completely agree with that sentiment. It’s entirely true. Our brain processes things differently when our hands are involved.

I miss 𝕏. I've taken a back seat on here lately to refocus my priorities. The truth is, I had two successful businesses before launching my third business here on 𝕏. I was searching for an easier path to more income and thought that the one-to-many approach of selling digital products would be 'the one' and free me of 'trading my time for money'. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that it takes a lot longer to make substantial income on this path. I put too much of my time into this endeavour and suffered the financial consequences as a result. A stressful lesson to learn of course... That's why I've changed my strategy. As some of you know, I started this business with my brother @bedwej. We are both passionate about our mission here so we're not abandoning it, we'll simply be turning this into our side hustle instead of our main gig. You may be wondering then - what is our main gig now? Well, we just launched our new business together - Learnwell. (That's now 4 businesses in total for me!) We both work in e-learning and are very passionate about delivering engaging e-learning where there is no death by PowerPoint in sight. 💀 It's an exciting new adventure where we'll be working with large well-known companies to deliver e-learning to 1000s of people. It's also a little daunting! But that's where the fun is - right on the edge of your comfort zone. So for now, I'll be here less... But I've not forgotten about you. I'll be back soon. 👌🏼 (And for those of you who may be curious, I'll link our website in the comments so you can check it out!)

@heyassim 1 ✅ 2 ✅ 3 - a genius idea not enough people do. I’m currently on a notebook hype. I’ve abandoned my Notion dashboard (shh don’t tell anyone!) for a notebook with paper templates I’ve made instead. I am LOVING it so far. Pen and paper can’t be beaten.

@evielync I’ve recently been pondering this myself as it’s how I’ve learned I work best. I also think it serves us as women very well because I don’t know about you but when it’s my time of the month creativity is out the window!!

I'm trialling working in 2-week focus sprints for my creative work. My recent focused progress on the Mind Like Water Mastery Workshop showed me that short bursts of focus work really helped me to build fast momentum. So I want to continue the experiment to see if I can ship some things out before the end of the year. During the 2 Week Sprint, I choose one project to move forward in a focused way & spend a minimum of one hour every day working towards finishing & shipping it. This is apart from any ongoing work that I have to do. I've found that focusing on one single thing means I can make really solid progress. Rather than trying to move several things forward simultaneously. Once the 2 Week Sprint is up it's Backlog Week. I use that week to have a well-deserved rest, tie up loose ends, and generally just reset. Then I go again for another 2-Week Sprint. So next week I'm putting my head down to finally update & ship The Spark Creator course. I'm loving the ebb & flow of 2 weeks on and one week off. I might not use it all the time, but I think it definitely works for times when I want to ramp up & get things moving fast. Anyone else have a similar rhythm to help them get work shipped?

I came back from holiday and everything changed. 1. I broke my posting streak at day 123. (I was too busy enjoying life and forgot to post) 2. I pivoted my time and energy towards a new venture. (Gotta pay my bills) 3. My 𝕏 timeline looked so different and I stopped engaging. But... I miss talking with cool people on here. I miss those micro moments of connection and laughs. I miss the feeling of community! So I'm making some changes around here... 1. I'm not focusing on growth. I'm focusing on enjoyment. Once I get my new venture off the ground, I'll be back for the growth. 2. I'm tidying up my feed. No growth gurus and growth copycats. I want to feed my mind with intrigue and curiosity not fast food trash. 3. I'll have more fun. Cos that's what it's all about! ✌🏼
