@MasriNBA JC really is pretty much perfect. He has no real weaknesses within his role. I guess he could try to get 5% better at everything.

The Wizards young core needs to make this offseason count. Here’s the one skill I want to see each player improve the most and what I think would have the biggest impact on their game: Kyshawn George — maintaining his defensive aggression while lowering the foul rate Alex Sarr — 3 point shooting Tre Johnson — lateral quickness on defense Will Riley — adding weight/strength Bilal Coulibaly — 3 point shooting Jamir Watkins — 3 point shooting Bub Carrington — quicker hands and generating more steals Justin Champagnie — nothing, you’re perfect

@JWeinbachNBA If that's all it takes, it's worth considering. The Wizards would draft Peterson in this scenario, which means they could trade #1 to UTA for #2 and a future FRP, offsetting the loss of a FRP in the Giannis trade. Milwaukee could presumably flip AD for draft capital.

Washington’s potential trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo: Anthony Davis Tre Johnson Bub Carrington 2027 first-round pick (via WAS) 2029 first-round pick (second most favorable of POR/BOS/MIL) The Wizards have been floated as a potential suitor for the Bucks superstar.

@jansjay The way to get Stewart is to trade a future pick to OKC for #17 and then draft Morez Johnson.

I wish there was a way the Wiz could get Isaiah Stewart. He’s the ideal F/C the Wiz need. Great off the bench to replace AD or Sarr. Capable enough in spot start mins when AD inevitably misses games. The issue is, the Wiz have no realistic matching salary options.

What’s the best package the Wizards could do for Giannis ⬇️ (It better not include the 1st overall pick, Sarr, and Kyshawn)

@ChuckingDarts Who would OKC want at #7 that they can't get at #12? Most of the guys projected in the #7-9 range are guards. OKC already has 7 guards under contract (SGA, Ajay, Wallace, Caruso, McCain, Joe, Topic) plus maybe Dort (team option).

It makes enough sense for Thunder to move up. I’d say that for just about any team from 7-10, including Kings, it’s a very good draft to hold two picks in that range. Get Morez and Bennett Stirtz/Christian Anderson and it’s a great draft night.
Kings Lead@KingsLeadSM

The Thunder wanting to move into the top 10 has been floated a ton recently. Supposedly picks 12, 17, and 37 are in the mix to be used to move up. Would you trade #7 for that package?

@Domo8186 Tanner put up incredible numbers in college, and stood out as a defender. Obviously, at that size, one wonders if the defense will hold up at the NBA level. There aren't many examples of short, skinny dudes being plus defenders. He is about the same size as Mike Conley FWIW.

@lockedonwizards Given his lack of 3-ball and lack of stocks, I'd say he is a mix of Tatum and Banchero. That's still a good player, but let's leave KD out of this.

@WizardsMuse1 @ShamsCharania Riley came on too late. If he broke out a month earlier, he would have made it. Tre was on pace early on, but got hurt and then faded.

@alexnesnidal @TheCollinDunks Which guys picked after Tre are better prospects? CMB is probably the better pick, but that's about it. Coward is better, but 2.5 years older so let's wait and see. Nobody else has really stood out so much that the Wizards feel regret.

@Dat2UReturns Castle is so overrated. Yeah, he is an exceptional defender, but his turnovers are a disaster. He is basically Marcus Smart. That's certainly useful, but guys like Bill Simmons considering him for All NBA 3rd team is just preposterous.

Koa Peat's draft stock has fallen too far. I'm seeing Yahoo projecting Peat to go in the 2nd round. Peat, while flawed as a shooter, is still a top 5 player at his position in this draft. Dybansta Boozer Wilson Morez Johnson Koa Peat A 2nd round mock is WILD for Peat

@DCsportsftw2 Not sure how this informs their pick strategy. It looks like they'll either draft a guy, trade back, or trade a player for another pick. Basically, anything can happen!

The Wizards FO generally will circle a guy in the draft and maneuver to get him Traded up for Bilal Traded Deni partially to get Bub Traded up for Kyshawn Tried to trade up for Ace Traded back knowing they’d still get Riley They’re gonna have a guy circled that they want at #1

@WizardsMafia Utah isn't trading all of that. I'd be happy if they packaged two future 1sts, sent them to a 3rd team and got back a 2026 pick in the 12-16 range. Then send that pick and the #2 for #1. Then draft DP and Morez Johnson.

This is exactly the deal I would want EXCEPT throw another unprotected FRP in there for me and you got a deal. Wizards would get: -Darryn Peterson -Ace Bailey (last year's #5 overall pick) -2028 FRP (unprotected) -2030 FRP (unprotected) OR We keep AJ Dybantsa with #1. Deal.
Fullcourtpass@Fullcourtpass

The consensus amongst league personal on what the Wizards would want to trade the number one pick to the Utah Jazz, per @BrettSiegelNBA - Number two pick - Future unprotected first-round pick - Quite possibly Ace Bailey (clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-storie…)

@DCSportsDre OKC would want a future FRP. They have enough good guys now. They want to push their draft capital further into the future. I think the idea makes a ton of sense for both sides.

Brett Siegel speculates that the Wizards/OKC could make a trade for the Wizards to get back in the 1st round with one of OKC's picks in the 1st round (12th/17th) 🤔

@PhillyBadTakes @Domo8186 Tell Utah to acquire a mid 2026 FRP to move up from #2 to #1. Utah could probably get it by trading away two top 4 protected future 1sts.

@Domo8186 Morez is the guy I want. At 6'-9" with a 7'-3.5" wingspan, he can play C and PF. He measured out as one of the most athletic bigs in history, and was very productive in college. And it looks like he is an underrated shooter too. He posted a 79% FT% and shot well in combine tests.

If teams are pivoting away from smaller guards, why did the Wizards are squire Trae Young? Why is this lottery littered with small guards (Acuff, Fleming, Okorie, Anderson etc.) projected as first round and even lottery picks? Out on small guards might just be a fade.
