I’m saying this as someone on the right - and someone who has zero issue with trans people themselves. My problem isn’t with individuals. It’s with the way activists, academics, and political strategists deliberately collapsed multiple, unrelated groups into one giant category called “trans,” and now everyone in every political tent treats that category like it’s a single, coherent population. It isn’t, and it never was. Progressives pushed the umbrella because it created a unified political bloc. The right attacks the umbrella because it’s easier to criticize a monolith than deal with nuance. And the media - all of it - uses the umbrella because it’s a simple narrative that doesn’t require explaining anything. But this collapse has consequences. You can’t make rational policy when you pretend that traditional transsexuals with lifelong dysphoria, people dealing with trauma or psychiatric distress, people whose relationship to gender is erotic or performative, and people adopting “trans” as a social identity…are all the same thing. They aren’t. And the public reacts to the loudest, most visible subgroup - not the tiny population that actually needs medical transition to survive. There is a massive rise in people identifying as “trans women” who have no interest in integrating socially as women. Their motivations and needs are not the same as traditional transsexuals. Ignoring that difference is dishonest. But here’s the part that matters to me, as someone on the right who actually pays attention: If we don’t untangle these groups, the people who genuinely need estrogen and medical care are going to lose access to the treatment that keeps them alive. Not because of anything they did - but because the public is reacting to the most extreme or fetishistic examples and assuming that’s the whole story. I don’t have to be trans to see that some people genuinely shatter without proper medical care. That’s not ideology. That’s reality. If we want sane policy, we need honesty. Not slogans. Not denial. Not flattening everyone into one category. Just the truth: different groups exist, they have different needs and pretending they’re all the same is hurting everyone.

FACT CHECK: There are no male to female transsexual mass shooters. There is a wave of mass violence by males claiming non-binary and “self-ID” female identities, but none of them have ever transitioned. Additionally, we do have multiple natal females that went on testosterone that have committed mass murder, but ZERO transsexual women. Here are the facts: ✅ Anderson Lee Aldrich (2022): claimed to be non-binary. Zero evidence of actual medical transition. ✅ Robin Westman (2025): experimented with pronouns for a while. Grew out of it. Did not go on HRT ✅ Jesse Van Rootselaar (2026): Play around with pronouns. No evidence he ever got gender affirming care. All of this is very obvious to me. Blocking testosterone, destroying your testicles and going on estrogen has a way of calming you down. But the right wing media and these anti-trans hacks are so eager to make you think trans women are dangerous. They are deliberately misleading you. Again, no trans woman who has actually transitioned has ever committed a mass shooting. None. Zero. There are no trans women mass shooters.

@BasilTheGreat Right, having read up on this, it’s not accurate. Steam DO get you locked in to buy content and DLC if you buy a game on their platform. You cannot buy content outside of Steam for your game, if you bought it on Steam initially. That’s what they’re arguing. Which is correct.

@pursuitedx Some software also expects this buffer to be available to flush during a write, so disabling it might cause erratic behaviour and crashing.

@pursuitedx The write cache buffer is to prevent data loss, in the event the OS crashes, causing an unexpected reboot, or there is a power loss. While technically a laptop might be ok, I would not recommend these settings for general usage, as even a normal reboot can cause data loss.

This is not a good idea, that cache is there to prevent data loss if there is a power failure, or hardware failure. Even an OS freeze where you force shutdown. Leave this setting at default, which is enabled.

@Richy_GITC Just ignore them, they send 1 a month and it never ends. They cannot do anything at all, if you are not watching TV, but it should be outlawed, as its bullying.

My good friend who was a BBC tech journalist decided she no longer wants to watch live TV, so she notified TV Licensing that she doesn't need a license anymore. They have called her three times, and are now sending threatening emails. The organisation is a shambles.

@Richy_GITC It depends on region. My mam had to wait about 3-4 weeks, for an MRI as the only available machine was in S Tyneside hospital. It was cancelled in the end as she has a pacemaker, but she was already in hospital and had a longish wait.

In November last year I required an MRI on my hip during a hospital stay. It was booked for the following week. This was with the NHS. So forgive me if I take this claim with a pinch of salt.

@Richy_GITC @QcWynter I'd love to see how he does this, as he cannot ban VPNs, they are used by millions who now work from home. Ban X and you just access via some sort of proxy, a VPN, VM or similar. Sounds like sabre rattling to me!

@QcWynter Following a ban on X, Starmer's next move will be to attempt to ban VPNs, and then we become China.

If Starmer does ban X in the UK, that will be the moment that I finally make the decision to enter politics, a decision at which I baulked in the late 1980s in order to focus on furthering my legal career. I don't think he will do it; he only wants to look tough, but we'll see.
