#WATCH Delhi: On the merger of 7 AAP MPs with BJP, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha says, "Some people are asking about the reasons behind my decision. I came into politics not to build my career but by leaving my career. AAP has now fallen into the hands of those who are working for their personal gains. We, a total of 7 MPs, had decided to leave this political party... I will raise all your problems with even more hard work and will also be able to work on their resolution." @svembu If they have taken US citizenship are they still Bhartiya or they just faked allegiance to get a US Green Card / passport, that is a very Un Bhartiya thing to do, right? If they are on a temporary H1B non visa they are doing a great service to Bharat by remitting $$$! Stay!

Open letter to Indians in America. -- Dear brothers and sisters from Bharat: Like I did 37 years ago, you arrived in America with no money but with a good education and cultural heritage from Bharat. You achieved outstanding success. America was good to us. For that we must remain grateful - gratitude is our Bharatiya way. Yet today, a significant number of Americans, may be not the majority but not too far from it either, believe that Indians "take away" American jobs and our success in America was unfairly earned. You may think the next election will fix this, but your choice would be between people who hate our Bharatiya civilisation and people who hate civilisation itself. That is the "hard right" vs "woke left" battle. You are mere bystanders to that conflict. Meanwhile there is one thing that is true now and will be true in the future: the respect Indians command world-wide will substantially depend on the fortunes of India herself. If India remains poor, the woke left will give us moral lectures with pity and the hard right, different moral lectures with scorn ("hellhole") and we must not confuse either with respect. Respect in today's world, along with prosperity and security, comes from one source: a nation's technological prowess. India produces sufficient brain power to achieve that prowess but alas we exported so much of that talent, particularly to America. As we develop that prowess in India, our civilisational strength will assert itself. As difficult as it is for many of you to contemplate this, please come back home. Bharat Mata needs your talent. Our vast youthful population needs the technology leadership you gained over the years to guide them towards prosperity. Let's do it with a missionary zeal. Respectfully Sridhar Vembu

@PreetiChoudhry @softgrowl An IAS aspirant Senior Bureaucrats daughter is raped and murdered in Delhi and it is not even an issue for the party in power! The RG Kar case in Kolkata almost led to the collapse of the ruling party in Bengal. The difference is obvious!

My exit poll! As I leave #Bengal, it would be a disservice not to say this: I have come to deeply admire the way women inhabit space here. There is a quiet, almost subconscious elevation of women as independent beings . something that stands in stark contrast to the entrenched misogyny that still finds resonance across much of northern India. Perhaps it stems from a cultural understanding of shakti. A form of empowerment that manifests here in ways both subtle and profound, unlike anywhere else in the country, even in the south. Any woman journalist who has covered political rallies across India will recognize the difference immediately. Other states, a crowd is not just a logistical challenge, it carries risk. the inevitability of wandering hands, the violation masked by chaos. Here, the crowds are no less dense, the air no less heavy with sweat and alcohol—but the hands, for the most part, do not grope. Men step aside to make way. When contact happens, as it inevitably does in chaos, there is visible embarrassment rather than entitlement. What you encounter is not chivalry, but something far rarer: equality. And equality feels far more meaningful. Was never a fan of chivalry in any case :)  There is more. Women politicians across party lines campaign with a striking freedom, aggressive, sharp, unapologetically irreverent, often using what would elsewhere be labelled as ‘masculine’ rhetoric. In most states, such behaviour would invite judgment, even censure. Here, it is met with acceptance,  applause. What feels liberating to an outsider is, in Bengal, simply normal. What we frame as empowerment  here is a cultural undercurrent. I have covered four elections in this state, and each time I have returned with the same sense of awe. Bengal, meanwhile, ambles on with a certain bemusement, as if unaware of what sets it apart. But it is a big deal. And perhaps the most remarkable part is that Bengal does not think so. Governments will come and go. One can only hope that this constant endures, not just how Bengal sees its women, but how, in many ways, it doesn’t. ♥️♥️♥️

#WATCH | Delhi | On Arvind Kejriwal, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal says, "If anyone is a traitor, it’s Arvind Kejriwal. When he started his movement, he wore torn pants, used a two-rupee pen, and drove around in a completely dilapidated car. We were all inspired, thinking that this man would bring change to the country. During the movement, he showed the entire country so many big, sweet dreams, and the country was impressed. But what did he do? As soon as he came to power, he built a house worth a hundred crores. He added a bar, installed carpets worth crores, and bought a refrigerator costing lakhs and crores. His sofa is so luxurious. And now, after the people of Delhi defeated him, he has moved to Punjab. They're using Punjab like an ATM. The man they had me beaten up by was given Z-plus security. Today, he’s been appointed Bhagwant Mann’s chief advisor...The man who used to speak out against VIP protocol, when his convoy moves out, we’re counting fifty cars, but it goes above fifty. So, what constitutes treason? I call acting against one's core principles treason. And there’s no bigger traitor than Arvind Kejriwal..."

This is no apology for calling The Kashmir Files on Kashmiri Hindu genocide a ‘propaganda’. Does she think massacre of Sikhs in Kashmir by Islamist terrorists was also a propaganda? As a Kashmiri Sikh she should be ashamed of her statements and apologise. Not go into circles.

I don’t know @priyankachopra. But seeing all the vile comments on social media based on her moment at the Oscars couldn’t resist the urge to do a bit of a reminder check- she has achieved far more than all her haters combined, deal with it. An outsider who makes it big and who has an opinion of her own is always repulsive to the cosy liberal gatekeepers - works in all places from politics to Bollywood. Shine on let no one dim that swag!

SCARRED & HIDING IT. Few days ago I flagged how Dubai was restricting visuals of strikes to avoid spooking investors and ensure its reputation as a safe haven for investment isn't rocked. Now, on cam UAE warns: don’t film or post anti-aircraft fire, missile interceptions, smoke or explosions. Penalties include fines, deportation.
