Update from Maya's father: Yesterday was a big day for us. We transitioned out of the ICU into a more recovery and rehab-focused unit, and it’s now been 26 hours since Maya’s EVD was removed for the second time. So far, everything is looking positive. She doesn’t seem to be in as much pain, and we’re starting to see a little more energy and color come back. She’s still not a fan of the boot for the pressure sore on her heel doing her best to kick it off whenever she can but her movements are becoming much more intentional. Our time in the PICU, for lack of a better word, has been a whirlwind filled with both highs and lows for Maya, but slowly we're making some more progress. And then came a moment today that completely overwhelmed me. OT and Physio came in, and with their help, Maya was able to sit up on the edge of the bed. This was huge for two reasons. First, she was using her own muscles to help support herself (with assistance), and second… I was finally able to wrap my arms around my daughter. Really wrap my arms around her and hold her tight. I can’t even begin to put into words what that hug felt like. All I wanted in that moment was to lift her up, hold her close, and never let go. We’re getting there, Dads little Maya Bear 🐻 I love you so much ❤️

this got a lot of comments about "spend all your money" im going to respond. i make enough money to comfortably blow $2M just last year. I bought 4 supercars that cost me $1.2M some financed some cash. insurance is $3000 per month just on my 2 supercars. I spent 50k-100k on single "vacations" i blew $75,000 in monaco gambling i spent a month in france blowing another $100,000 on accommodation. spent money flying out girls from paris. dinners that wouldn't be less than $1000 with some more than $5000 at La Gueritte in Cannes spending 10s of thousands partying with billionaires in monaco, buying bottles when i don't even drink. Penthouse in arizona, mansion in california, $7m condo in miami. i live a very expensive lifestyle yet fun and memory filled lifestyle. i personally wouldn't change anything either. when you make a lot of money, you can buy cool things, travel the world in private jets, yachts whenever you're bored, spending hundreds of thousands on dinning, spending millions on shopping, expensive villas, basically living like how most billionaires live. however it all comes with a catch, a big one.... Congratulations, you just completely FUCKED your dopamine and feel NOTHING now. the killer isn't being comfortable. the killer is post trip, post club, post dopamine peak depression. one second you're living like a billionaire making unforgettable memories with your best friends, then before you know it, you're back at home, running your business, managing dozens of employees, juggling a million things at once and making sure you're still running profitably across all income streams. post "high on life" depression hits hard as fuck. and if im being honest, if i had an addictive personality and wanted to use drugs to feel something, trust me i would be. from living a high life, FLOODING your dopamine receptors with serotonin and oxytocin i can assure you it numbs you. nothing feels the same anymore, loving is exponentially harder since you'd rather have a quick hit of dopamine filling the void you caused.. the reason billionaires live a crazy life is yes, they can afford to do it, but once you do it and keep doing it, i can assure you everything becomes numb. it becomes the norm and you have to keep doing big shit, stupid shit, dopamine filled activities or substances just to feel something. maybe im doing it wrong, maybe im still young and dumb but i can assure you all of my friends that live the same lifestyle feel the same. i could name drop 10 people that have texts saying "just to feel something" life becomes dull and only way to feel something is to temporarily fill the void with a quick fix but the real feeling will always haunt you.
