Structural vaccinologist designing malaria vaccines; postdoc in Higgins Lab, University of Oxford

@nawsad_alam presented our structure-guided design of RH5top, our latest blood stage-malaria vaccine immunogen in talk and poster at the Malaria Gordon conference. The culmination of many studies from the lab and doing well in pre-clinical testing! More soon.

We have a position available for a research assistant to join our team to test our rationally designed malaria vaccines. A fun job with a lovely team of people and an important project funded by the Gates Foundation. Come and join us! my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecruit…

Have you ever wanted to design protein binders with ease? Today we present 𝑩𝒊𝒏𝒅𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕, a user-friendly and open-source pipeline that allows to anyone to create protein binders de novo with high experimental success rates. @befcorreia @sokrypton biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Thanks @TrendsParasitol for highlighting our structure-guided design of PfRH5-based vaccines. In particular, PfRH5.2 which combines truncations from Wright et al (2014) and mutations from Campeotto et al (2017). Good to see it outperforming PfRH5.1! cell.com/trends/parasit…

Very proud of @nawsad_alam, giving his talk about how we are trying to make the best possible blood stage malaria vaccine at BioMalPar 2024

This immungen elicited a high-quality growth inhibitory response. We also showed that a first dose of this highly focused immunogen, followed by subsequent doses of the broader immunogen, PfRH5, was most effective. Read all about it here: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
