Thoughts & prayers with everyone who has lost loved ones during these past few days of madness. I know this sounds trite but hopefully the football tonight @beINSPORTS_EN can act as a distraction for a short time? Stay safe 🇶🇦 ❤️ 💪🏻

This is quite literally Christian terrorism.

The American Secretary of War openly insults Islam, declaring that “regimes that believe in Islamic prophetic illusions cannot possess nuclear weapons,” another reminder that this is being framed as a religious war from their own mouths.

And before you ask - No, he is not Leandro Trossard's father or related to him in any way. 🤣

@jamesallcott It's always Interstellar.

On the ball, Ait Nouri deadass can match Gvardiol's ball carrying and passing, whilst being slightly better defensively imo. Not to talk of how easy on the eye he is too. Was the best LB in the prem 2 seasons ago btw.
Lare@laredoublepivot
Gvardiol is a unicorn but he has these bozo genes which we're all afraid to point out. Nouri ahead of him for me cos he generates more football in full flow at LB.

Stephen Mfuni (18/🏴)
— Watford (CB/LB)
With Watford in a shitty spell, just 1 win in their last 9, there hasn’t been much positivity around Vicarage Road. One clear bright spot though has been Stephen Mfuni, on loan from Manchester City. The 18-year-old made his senior debut for City in the 10–1 trashing of Exeter before heading out for Championship minutes, and he’s adjusted to that surprisingly quickly. Eligible for Congo but capped across England’s youth sides, he hasn’t looked out of place at all, if anything, he’s looked like one of Watford’s more reliable players despite the chaos around them. He might be Mfuni, but his potential is no joke. Haha. 🥅
At around 1.80m he’s not your typical towering centre-half, but he profiles as a modern, progressive defender with surprisingly long legs, perfect to defend. Mostly operating as the left centre-back in a back three or four, and occasionally filling in at left-back, he offers nice versatility. His positional awareness is strong, he reads danger early and times his interventions well. He’s front-footed and fiercy in duels. Under pressure he stays composed, can carry the ball out and doesn’t panic-clear. Compared to his predecessor Alleyne, the main difference are his pace, comfort in possession and aggression. Good anticipation and rapid runs. He covers space quicker and contributes more in buildup. Aerially, despite not being huge, his leap, timing and shoulder strength allow him to compete properly, and the fact he’s performing in a side that’s not really performing says a lot about his mentality. 💪🏻
He does rely heavily on his left foot when building out and can become predictable under pressure, need to develop more trust in his right. His first and second touch can occasionally be a bit heavy. Mfuni loves stepping out aggressively to intercept, which suits him, but he’ll need to manage those moments so he doesn’t overcommit. Same with his long diagonals, the quality is there, but sometimes it’s about keeping it simple, especially when protecting a lead (which, fair enough, hasn’t been Watford’s strong point this season). Weird one but what stands out to me, his landings after high jumps can look mad awkward. Probably just because he gets serious elevation, but it’s something to tidy up to avoid unnecessary errors or knocks. But, for an 18-year-old centre-back just jumping into Championship football, he looks well ahead of schedule.. 🔜

❗️Barcelona like Omar Marmoush because of his versatility. He's the main alternative to Julian Alvarez.
He would be signed as a striker, but could also play in the wings.

Manchester City have signed 11 players since the start of 2025, but none of them have had as big an impact in that period as Nico O'Reilly.
The 20-year-old's influence at left-back was impressive but his size and physicality are now helping him cement a place as a regular starter further forward.
The academy graduate is not the archetypal Pep Guardiola midfielder but right now he is absolutely perfect for the new team his manager is building.
