Today, Kushner Real Estate and I announced that we are turning 808 Pavonia Avenue — once slated for a Pompidou Museum satellite — into affordable housing for Jersey City residents. When the old plan stopped making sense, we found a better one. We believe Blizzard 2026 was one of the ten biggest snow storms in Jersey City’s recorded history. Our crews will be out overnight finishing their roadway clean-up. Tomorrow, we’ll expand our efforts to clear crosswalks and more. I want to say thank you to every Public Works crew member, MUA worker, police officer, fire fighter, and city employee who worked through that night (and the night after that): Jersey City sees your hard work and appreciates you. To our residents: thank you for your patience. We heard your frustrations after the last storm. We took notes. We incorporated real learnings, and while this one wasn’t perfect, it was a lot better. I’m thankful for @SolomonforJC’s transparency with Jersey City residents about the budget deficit he inherited from the prior administration. We will work relentlessly to use every tool available at the federal level to help @JerseyCity move forward.

I want to dig more into the budget in the coming weeks but I do hope that the space being built out for the Pompidou is put to good use for the community. It might work as an art museum if there is a willing partner with the Met, Whitney, MoMA or Guggenheim across the river. 2/
