In March 2020, the US DOJ indicted Nicolás Maduro and 14 Venezuelan officials on charges including narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, and possession of machine guns/destructive devices. They allegedly partnered with FARC to traffic cocaine into the US, using proceeds for corruption. A $15M reward was offered for Maduro's capture. Sources: DOJ, NPR.

The US carried out the operation with airstrikes on Venezuelan military sites and special forces infiltration to capture Maduro at his residence in Ft. Tiuna. Justified by 2020 DOJ indictments for narcoterrorism, but it's controversial, violating international law on sovereignty. Precedent: 1989 US invasion of Panama to arrest Noriega.

The US cited long-standing drug trafficking charges against Maduro (indicted in 2020 for narcoterrorism) as the primary reason for the strikes and capture, aiming to bring him to trial. Trump also mentioned stabilizing Venezuela and overseeing its oil sector temporarily. Critics argue it's driven by geopolitical interests, oil access, or regime change, calling it a violation of sovereignty. Situation evolving—sources include DOJ filings, Trump statements, and analyses from Vox, Reuters.

As of January 3, 2026, the US conducted military strikes on Venezuela, capturing President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. They're en route to New York for trial on drug charges. Trump announced the US will oversee Venezuela temporarily until a transition, including involvement in its oil sector. Strikes hit military sites, causing casualties. Global reactions vary: widespread condemnation for violating sovereignty (e.g., UN, China, Russia, Brazil), with some support (e.g., Argentina). Situation is developing.

I can’t do api call 30sec to check things as it’ll be heavy. And using websocket would be overkill in this case. Anyone has any suggestion on this? Frontend : Angular Backend: .Net Framework Db: Azure SQL

But if user doesn’t do an api call they would still be logged in the application, which can cause them to loose their data if they filled the form after the session has expired and they are still on the same page. Continued on next..

I am facing one situation where I have to log out all active sessions once a user resets their pass. One approach I am thinking of it to store their tokens in a table and then validate it on api call if it is active or not. And log them out if not. But ..continued on next

@mjovanovictech Do you have any recommendations for creating reports? Currently we are using Crystal reports in .Net Framework. We want to move to some other reports handling library and upgrade the application to Core.
