@UrsidaeBull @TheElJefe49 @JoeInOregon_87 Except the Mountain West was still left with enough schools to qualify as a conference under NCAA rules. That is the significant difference.
English

@TheElJefe49 @JoeInOregon_87 Ah true, so basically, they did to the MWC - what the B1G/B12 did to the PAC12.
English

“The Mountain West collected $10.5 million for scheduling football games in the 2024 season against Oregon State and Washington State. (It makes the $30 million the MW asked for in 2025 ridiculous. The Pac-12 walked away from that negotiation and, eventually, poached five MW members. Lawsuits galore followed.”
You mean to tell me that they weren’t trying to extort the Pac in year 2 of a scheduling deal?

For 20 years, a $6 knob that takes one hour to 3D print has been grounding Black Hawk helicopters four times a month, and the contractor responsible won't sell us the part or the IP rights to fix it ourselves.
So instead, American taxpayers have been paying $40,000 every single time to replace the entire system, multiplied by four times a month, for two decades.
That is NOT a procurement problem, that is a shakedown, and it is exactly why right to repair has to be in this year's NDAA.

@CougfanCOM @WSUCougarFB @WSUCougars Folks,
The new AstroTurf features grass-like fibers with an infil base. It’s not the old carpet and concrete show. Did some research on AstroTurf site. UW (yes that one 🤮) Mizzou, Colorado, Boston College, Fresno State, UNC Chapel Hill all use AstroTurf brand.

@wilnerhotline The PAC was on some bs but, the BIG10 move was also about maximizing USC's value.

English

This is quite the debate
The answer is: The Pac-12 didn't actively work to undermine USC; nor did it treat the most valuable brand in a strategically savvy fashion. In Larry Scott's world, Oregon State (Ray) and Arizona State (Crow) had as much clout as the Trojans. Not smart
Alicia de Artola Castillo@PenguinOfTroy
Yeah, standing by and doing nothing while the NCAA manipulated itself into a lack of institutional control charge and dropped the hammer on USC had *nothing* to do with USC’s performance in the decade that followed.
English

@WCCSG_ Ashamed to admit I left the game in the second half. I had to work in the morning. I can hear the stadium cannon in very well from my house. When I stopped hearing cannon fire, I said to myself, “uh oh.”
My children will NEVER name any of my grandchildren with the initials DTR
English

@nellfire I remember watching this game I left for like 20 minutes think it was over and came back to a completely different game.
English

@BillyMarkJack2 @DaleStarkA10 Mexico City is a beautiful cosmopolitan city was there couple years ago. No problem walking around the city, even at night.
But the nearest surf is a bit of a drive 😂
English

@DaleStarkA10 I can assure you, it wouldn’t be a good idea to go to Mexico City right now
English

At 18 fresh out of high school, I bought a one way ticket to Mexico City with no return date planned. Just surfed all over the mainland. Almost died a couple times. One of the best experiences of my life.
If you’re young and unattached just go do what you feel calling you. Die with so many stories your great grandchildren don’t even believe you were a real person.

@nellfire @tesla_hillbilly Definitely still love this little town despite a few “interesting” individuals 😆
Reminds me of Neah Bay in a lot of ways
English

@coastaln8v73 @tesla_hillbilly I was driving through Winona and Benge on my way back from Moses Lake because I didn’t want anything to do with Hwy 26 on Saturday.
Lots of little towns with “unique” attributes.
English

@nellfire @tesla_hillbilly Bro, this was a local 😆😆😆😆😆😆
And absolutely facts what you said
English

@huskylenz @TodayUpdates0 Did you listen to his talk? He said his family has no problem paying. He is advocating for those who come from lower-middle class that have the merit but not the means. The issue is the massive bloat of middle management plaguing all major universities.
English

@TodayUpdates0 Is he required to attend there? Was it the only school he got into? There are plenty of cheaper options.

🚨BREAKING: Brown University student Alex Shieh previously EVISCERATED the school's administrators for having a $46 million deficit, despite surging costs for students.
They pay $90K+ PER YEAR.
Alex Shieh: "What about the kids who weren't born on third base?! [...] Brown is on track to run a $46 million DEFICIT this year. WHERE is all the money going?"
"I'll tell you where it's going. It's going into an empire of administrative bloat and bureaucracy! Brown employs 3,805 full time non-instructional staff for just 7,229 undergrads. That's one administrator for every two students."
"This isn't education. This is bloat paid for on the backs of students and families who are mortgaging their futures for a shot at a better life!"
Do you firmly support Alex Shieh on this?
A. Huge Yes
B. No
IF Yes, Give me a THUMBS-UP👍!!
MAKE THIS GO VIRAL ON 𝕏. LET’S GO 👏

@tesla_hillbilly @coastaln8v73 There are already plenty of interesting folks where G-Unit lives. I had to respond to some wild calls when I was providing coverage for the Whitman Co Sheriff chaplain a dozen years ago.
English

@coastaln8v73 WSU just had their graduation, brought all the nuts to town 😂

@1BroncoBeliever @SeanKenny845105 I’m not a Boise hater. I love what the Broncos have done. I can’t wait for the Snake River Rivalry this fall.
I am probably jaded having known too many folks in collegiate athletics and encountered the attitudes of fans East of the Rockies towards West Coast CFB.
English

@nellfire @SeanKenny845105 But they are incorrect in their assessment of value as Boise has definitely proven.
Your point has nothing to do with the conversation at hand which is predicated on what Boise would do if those out dated perspectives weren’t holding Boise back
English

Because they were only P5 due to their association within the conference, not because of any inherent strength they brought in and of themselves. Most P4s are only powers because of their conference association. It is the main reason the P4 wants to keep Boise out because Boise is already a power due to their brand and winning culture and if you coupled that with the inherent benefits of P4 association they would be a perennial Top 5 program.
PAC-12 Central@Pac12Central
Genuine question here: How can a former Power 5 with as big of a brand as WSU have under $1M in NIL Budgets
English

@1BroncoBeliever @SeanKenny845105 Those perspectives are the only ones that count
English

@nellfire @SeanKenny845105 The only role geography plays in holding Boise back is in our of date metrics and perspectives that those in charge of the P4 use in guiding membership decisions
English

@1BroncoBeliever @SeanKenny845105 You can’t unshackle yourself from geography.
BSU will always be in Boise. Boise will always be in Idaho. Idaho has been a way point on the journey to or from the Pacific since 1804.
English

@SeanKenny845105 The proof is what Boise State has been able to do despite its circumstances. You remove the shackles of those circumstances and the ceiling is limitless

Why aren’t your college sports conferences based on geography ?

English

@TyAlbrecht13 @Pac12Central Financially we were stuck. Can’t change staffs yet in MBB for at least one more season. But don’t want to throw good money after bad.
English

@Pac12Central This is mostly about coaching. We were awful last year, and despite that had quite a bit of the team transfer to P5.We kept the same coach, and a lot of the fanbase believes it was a cheap and bad move to keep him
English

Genuine question here: How can a former Power 5 with as big of a brand as WSU have under $1M in NIL Budgets
Go Cougs@gocougs123
WSU MBB’s rev share/ NIL budget is under $1 million for next season. Going to be hard to compete in the new Pac12 with that number
English

@TonyOnly_ @Pac12Central FB drives the bus. Has the most pull with Alumni & greatest payout post season.
MBB went 12-20, 7-11 in the WCC. The roster for most part found homes in the P-2 after season. Wasn’t a talent thing.
Buyout too big to change staff this year. Have to cut loses for 2026-2027.
English

@Pac12Central It’s all going to FB. Wise investment imo. If we gave 3-4 million or more to BB we’d still get destroyed with the awful coaching. Expect it to change when they change coaches.
English

@zacyourback Give to athletics, honestly. The ROI is going to go down for most places, the winning recipe is education + an experience. The university is going to need to figure out how to make housing cheap and then make the experience first rate. Which it is. But sports has to be a lure.
