I think Beshear's unwillingness to push on this shows he is not the fighter Dems need for the White House run in '28. It's the same walking on eggshells that gave us Merrick Garland. If he can't push on McConnell's health, then why would we think he has the drive to go after Trump cronies, to root out the corruption the entrenched, and to fight to prosecute those who aided foreign interference. I actually thought he was a strong wildcard pick with potential for the '28 ticket. Not top of my list, but not bottom either. Now I think his campaign is DOA.

You know what are strategic resources? Steel & Aluminum. You know what America imports 750,000 tons of from China every year? Steel & Aluminum. You know what Canada can supply America with in abundance? Steel & Aluminum. You know what Canadian product the US is tariffing that's leading to Canada's "restrictions" on specific non-strategic US goods? Steel & Aluminum. The worst kind of person in politics is the type who believes “the point is to win power and govern,” but does not believe this is an important question to answer: “Why do you want power, and what would you change in government?” This type of person also believes leaders should not have values or opinions of their own, and should never discuss anything that has not already been approved by the right set of stakeholders as perfectly agreeable. I think leadership is more than telling the ‘right type’ of people what they want to hear, slicing and dicing until a political Frankenstein is born. Instead, I believe leadership is about persuasion, and so is good politics. It means explaining why there are difficult things we nevertheless need to do for the long-term good of society. A leader that refuses to make the case for something unpopular but needed is no leader at all. This is why I published a platform; to give people a sense of where I stand on issues, and to open the debate about the future of Ontario and the hard topics we should discuss. There are many skeptics of my campaign to lead the Ontario Liberal Party. But I believe in running the kind of campaign that reflects how I believe politics should be practised. I also believe I am offering a vision of liberalism built for the decades ahead, rather than repeating what worked in 2010 (while ignoring how public attitudes and needs have changed). I think Liberals must offer Ontario real change. Too many think we should just offer a change back, and that the Liberal politics of the last few decades is what people want again. Scooter is part of traffic, light is green, van doesn't shoulder check, ignores clearly marked sign, fails to yield

@rrrobbberttt I think they need turn signals. I see this happen often. Neither are paying attention.

The van that cut off the scooter-rider should have yielded - in accordance with the sign. The ignorant comments on the video are infuriating. We need more education for drivers. (I’ve been similarly cut off by a right turning driver while on a separated bikeway on Nelson. Scary)

@brettdrc @rrrobbberttt The counter is neither compelling nor correct. The van is at fault, the van is disobeying a clearly marked traffic sign, failed to shoulder check, and failed to yield. Everything is crystal clear in the video. You would fail if you argued this to ICBC.

@brettdrc @rrrobbberttt That's a made-up lie or it didn't occur in British Columbia. A scooter, like a bicycle is part of the traffic flow (not a pedestrian). She entered the intersection on the correct green light. The van failed to shoulder check, obey clearly marked traffic signs, and yield.

@UnknownLegendEF @VanCityVice Not on the wrong side, if you look you’ll see the green path is marked in both directions. The onus is on the van to obey the clearly displayed traffic sign and yield to the scooter.
