@CouchRacerShop Evident that these cars have a hard time creating runs. But better than having a green flag pistol and fuel savings. Still not as good as it used to be or NOAPS.

If Steve O’Donnell wants to truly unite the NASCAR fanbase, he will concede that the future of NASCAR does not rely on the Gen 7 car. It relies on the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series car. Please. Concede the obvious. Make the future racing product better.

Motorsports should be the test bed for innovation and performance that serves a benefit to the OEM. As we head into the future, it makes sense to start pushing the limits with technology and machinery, and letting that serve purpose in the consumer market for performance.
Brian Murphy@Brian_Murphy_

Automotive OEMs could move beyond the “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday” mentality and embrace a branding-driven approach. Focus on cultivating passion for motorsports, letting that enthusiasm for racing translate directly into the products they build and the community they create.

@jeff_gluck I think people are afraid of it making a mockery of NASCAR like Talladega Nights did.

I'm genuinely asking because I don't understand: What's the deal with the Cleetus hate? He's running ARCA (exactly where he should be to get experience), he has a ton of real enthusiasm for NASCAR and he's bringing a huge audience to your favorite sport. And all some of you do is take shots at him? Why? I honestly don't get it. Please explain?

@BoziTatarevic We don’t want fake cautions. We want natural cautions, we want the cars to be hard to drive and on the edge of out of control. Mistakes lets you know it’s hard, and they are human. But these shitbox cars don’t present that. Makes it seems anyone can do it. NOAPS does it right!

And there lies the core problem with the charters They’re working as designed. They’re rewarding owners, regardless of performance Charters, at their core, are anti-competitive. That’s good for owners, and bad for the sport It lends itself to more pay-drivers, too
Freddie Kraft@FreddieKraft

The charters were meant to reward the owners that show up week in and week out, and invest in the sport. I believe Rick has purchased three charters over the years. I’m sure Rick will decide to cash in one day, and rightfully so, but until then it’s his to do as he sees fit.

There have been six DNFs in the last five races, the fewest in a five-race span in Cup Series history. Additionally, the 2026 season has seen 54 total cautions, the fewest through nine races since 2012 (48).

@TravisRockhold @dennyhamlin Also would provide something for TV to talk about in the closing laps about how many lapped cars can the leader put between him and 2nd in case of OT.

@TravisRockhold @dennyhamlin Overtime restarts should be single file with lap traffic in line as they were running on the track. It would be more fair to where cars were running but still provide potential excitement NASCAR is looking for.

This hurts
Stephen Stumpf@stephen_stumpf

Since 2023, @dennyhamlin has lost 6 races in OT he would've won had they ended at the scheduled distance: '23 Kansas 2 '24 Kansas 1 '24 Nashville '25 Daytona 500 '25 Phoenix 2 '26 Kansas 1 He has 2 wins because of OT, meaning OT has effectively cost him 4 wins the last 3 years.

@pkligerman @jeff_gluck The cars don’t even look like the cars on road, it’s in name only. Why keep jumping through these hoops? Build the best classic stock car (NOT SPORTS CAR) you can & race. Let the mfgs brand it how they want. The Cars Tour is about to become king if this continues down this path.

I’ve called the OReily series “Classic stock car racing” for years now but it does expose an issue for all racing series currently. Unlike other sports, motorsports is requested to entirely change its product every few years to satisfy OEMs and technological changes. The question is: Do you continue to change with them, or prepare a platform that can survive in an OEM-less future? Is that 10 years away? 20 years? Sprint cars, dirt late models etc are essentially this. Are they relevant technologically? No. Do they have a dedicated fan base? Yes. Then there’s the issue that the current car has a dwindling supply of parts and the manufacturers of those parts are disappearing. Thus I don’t envy NASCARs situation here. Invest in keeping things as they are by becoming involved in the parts and pieces that are relevant no where else? Or change with the whims of consumer preference for OEM support? Risking the very product your customers love. It’s a really tough spot. My heart says, just stay as is. Let the cup series change but keep one for your hardcore fan base. But I’m not staring at the spreadsheet data.
Adam Stern@A_S12

John Probst says CUV could give @NASCAROReillyAP clearer identity: "If you look at the brand identity of those three, the O'Reilly Series struggles a little bit just from the car perspective and you see it a lot because we refer to it often as whoever the entitlement sponsor is."
