@LekhakAnurag Yaa i did read them as all the cases talk about a pre-existing Trademark. Did any entity named “jiohotstar” exist here? It virtually didn’t even mean anything up until recently where the merger deal has been finalised and it got the necessary approvals.

Whoever registered the domain jiohotstar.com is engaging in "domain squatting," which is illegal. There have been numerous court rulings against such practices. Registrars typically dislike getting involved in these issues and often comply with trademark owners' requests to transfer domains without informing the domain holder—or rather, the domain squatter. This individual has admitted to registering the domain after reports of a potential merger, indicating that he did so intentionally. This is illegal. He would be fortunate if #Jio does not take legal action against him or refuse to pay him anything. His actions amount to an attempt at extortion, which could be used as an argument if the case goes to court. Don't be foolish like him. You cannot stand up to the might of the Ambanis in court.
