Heidi has already presented evidence showing the call originated from a landline inside the Johannesburg Correctional Centre (see Screen grab). It was a landline number. I’ll say it again: prisoners calling out is nothing new. There are countless examples over the years of inmates communicating with the media — whether through phones, letters, or intermediaries. Have we forgotten about the “Grootvlei Connection”? The real issue is not the call. What Jermaine Prim said is what matters. His allegations are serious. They must be tested. This should be the subject of a proper, transparent investigation. Trying to discredit the call instead of addressing the claims raises more questions than answers.
