@KySportsRadio You know what else is true? When UK fans felt it was a 50/50 chance we get a top recruit... with Cal that chance was like 80% in reality and with Pope it's about 20%.
Cal with NIL money would've rejuvenated the program. Our timing may have been off to break up

So Kentucky has just landed one of my favorite players in the portal - Alex Wilkins of Furman.
Averaged 17.8 points and 4.7 assists this season.
Think he fits perfectly alongside Zoom Diallo and gives UK a versatile, multi-year piece.

Here’s the issue: Almost feels like a panic move to get both Alex Wilkins AND Zoom Diallo. I can promise you, Diallo isn’t going there to play off the ball. He’s not very effective without the ball in general. But if Wilkins isn’t handling the ball, it greatly limits what he’s good at.
To me, some of the early portal whiffs led to Kentucky just going in on talent and not worrying about fit, which is a pretty shaky formula.

Certainly some knocks in Alex Wilkins’s game. Shooting is a concern. Can hit them but not consistent enough — yet. The decision making is what’ll determine just how much of his potential he taps into at Kentucky. Had some high turnover games and bad shot selection at times. I love his talent, though. His 6-5 frame, versatile scoring and overall playmaking should make him a top option for the Wildcats.
