AFFECT is a reservoir of libido for revolutionaries in NYC

Statement from DEA President Scott Munro: “What we saw in Washington Square Park today was not harmless fun — it was a deliberate, outrageous, and dangerous attack on uniformed police officers. The Detectives’ Endowment Association is calling on Mayor Mamdani and District Attorney Bragg to ensure every individual responsible for this illegal behavior is prosecuted. No free pass. No get out of jail free card. Make no mistake: detectives will do what they always do. They will identify those involved and they will apprehend them. Our men and women in blue deserve to be safe. They deserve to be protected. And they deserve to be respected. They earn it every single day.”

find yourself a friend who will perform a flying shoeless body check against a cop to dearrest you

@OLAASM I've raised similar objections, namely based on dubious studies-> twitter.com/adamjohnsonNYC… but cases like #SamDubose seem convincing

The body cams will have facial recognition AI bullshit installed.

Over the weekend, thousands of uniformed and civilian members of the NYPD were working across the city to keep New Yorkers safe. Despite the dangerous conditions, the NYPD showed up. Calls were answered, and officers were out in neighborhoods responding to people who needed help during a storm that kept most of the city inside. So much of this work was only possible because of our PCTs, the steady voices at the other end of every 911 call. These are the first of the first responders, and @NYCMayor and I visited them today to thank them for their tireless work this weekend during the storm.

There's something about being inundated with snuff films of people being murdered and disappeared by the state from multiple angles for the past ~16 years that has me questioning the purported power of images to transform society
