7:23am, 1 July 2024, she asked if I was a motivational speaker. Today she's traveling with me to watch me give a motivational speech to the @Eazi_Code students, as my wife 💍. Total cost of 3 month bootcamp was +R100k. We've done it for free for our students. Also secured prizes such as laptops and tablets for the students. Very excited for today 💪! #codeTodayLeadTomorrow #coding #development #learning

Just joined a new firm and immediately hit a wall with their audit tool which had zero visibility into tasks or overall progress. Every day meant painful manual drill-downs through endless sections just to figure out where things stood. Frustrated, I went home and built a tool to manage the entire audit file with clear task tracking, real-time progress visibility, status updates and summary dashboard. The team loved it. Within days, it was officially adopted as the firm’s project management tool for audits. Grateful to God🙏.

@petergyang Do you think google will succeed with video models where SORA failed?

I feel like Google is going to win consumer AI. It’s the only US lab that’s building video models and consumers love video (e.g., TikTok / YouTube is far more popular than text based platforms). The only real competition is Seedance and other video models that don’t care about copyright?

Just watched the Google I/O ’26 keynote (all 3 hours of it 😃 ). Interesting presentation, top takeaways: 1. Google is all-in on AI. Majority of all updates were either improvements to Gemini or Gemini integrations into their products. 2. A significant amount of the updates will only be accessible to paying customers. Google’s innovations used to be mostly free for everyone (Maps, YouTube, Calendar, Gmail), but now it seems that those who can afford them will have a significant advantage over those who cannot. Paying a monthly $100 (R1 700) subscription for AI tools is a big ask, especially in developing countries. 3. Software engineering roles will continue to evolve. Google’s dev team (or should I say “agent orchestration team”? 🙃 ) vibe-coded an entire functional Operating System, using 93 sub-agents running in parallel. It was done in 12 hours and cost them less than $1,000 in API costs. Efficient and effective use of agents will become a key requirement. Actually curious, are any of you paying subscribers for Google's AI tools? #google #gemini

Also watching the keynote. It's been 2 hours of just AI so far....haven't seen any non AI updates to Google's existing software suite. Most of it is for paying users. This really bothers me, in the past, majority of Google's tools would be free for all (maps, calender, photos)

It is getting genuinely difficult to keep track of all of the names of AI products being unveiled. In the last hour, Google's unveiled Google Pics (which is not Google Photos), and updates to Google Flow, Nano Banana, Veo (all media generation), Google Antigravity, Gemini Spark, Gemini Omni, Gemini 3.5 Flash

@raonehere @getpeid Gadget I thought of first when I saw this tweet, glad I found this comment. Glad I'm not the only one. Owned the M7 back in the day, no phones have moved me as much since then.

Yah, even Starmer looked quite decent when he was the head of the opposition. Think they should make it harder to oust PMs so that they actually serve their terms. Coz also seems that those around them on their own parties are also just being opportunists. Entertaining to watch tho 😅.

In 1990, the world was introduced to Mr Bean, now maybe the most famous comedy character of all time. Yet the story started some years earlier, on the home pitch of Paris club Racing 92. This is the crazy story of how France's eternal underachievers created a comedy dynasty...

Hi, are there any project managers/CTOs/team leads who use linear, jira or clickup? Got a product we've been working on that integrates with these tools to help monitor resource efficiency. Been quite useful for our team internally. Just wanted a 15min discussion to get some feedback on the product.

I flew with @KenyaAirways last week, and it was the WORST EXPERIENCE ever. 1. The plane was parked a gate away from where passengers were called to board. A gate away. So why use that gate then? Heaven alone knows. And get this - we had to walk on the skybridge, outside the airport building, down the flight of stairs into the tarmac and make our trek to the aeroplane to board the plane… OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT BUILDING, AND it was raining. Yes, raining! So all the passengers had to WALK IN THE RAIN to board the plane. And we then had to wait outside for the passengers ahead of us to board. So, the rest of us WAITED IN THE RAIN. We eventually boarded, drenched! Absolutely crazy. 2. The staff at the boarding gate were chewing gum, talking amongst themselves, and treating passengers as if they were doing us a favour. Gum. Loud laughing. Rolling eyes and demanding clients. Kuningi nje. 3. My bag was badly damaged — really badly. While the bag is expensive (no need to get into the cost or the brand), they say I should have the bag delivered to them so they can take it to “their assessor” to decide whether to replace or repair it. By the way, the bag is so badly damaged that it can't be fixed. I fly… A lot. I have already boarded over 40 flights this year. Last year, I travelled to over 20 countries. I live in airports & airlines. I regularly have unpleasant experiences on commercial flights. I am not a sissy. I don’t complain. You take the good with the bad. But I can tell you this for free: this KQ experience was horrendous. It would have been more pleasant to pour Tabasco sauce into my naked eye & then blindly stir into a lunar eclipse. Anyway, back to your regular scheduled program. VT

Proof that @_MakdShelby did get that plane ticket and made it to the 'wedding in cape town' back in 2024 ✈️. As usual, haters will say it's AI, but the receipts and v11s exist 😅!
