@jakehmccoy Lots of comments over there about how people can't even afford food. None of us would even exist if prior generations had the same civilization-suicidal attitudes

English

The response to this has radicalized me. Most are calling Sasse out of touch and claiming that if we provided free healthcare/childcare/housing or otherwise made life more affordable, fertility would increase.
I am very confident in saying that as affordability increases, all else equal, fertility will continue to drop. The spattering of free stuff above would knock it to zero for a good portion of the country.

@60Minutes You sick people have made the world unaffordable and still think people should have babies. They can’t even afford to eat week to week.

@TheRealestRJL My 3 and a half year made the same choices! Congratulations, fellow good Dad

@Habibi_Ameer @NBA @RUFFLES Idk who the girl is, but Cody Jones and Dude Perfect got their start doing basketball trick shots. He's shown over the years that he can hoop a little bit. I thought he was a really fun addition to the roster
English

We’ve got NBA legends like Jason 'White Chocolate' Williams and Jeremy Lin playing on the same court as Taylor Frankie Paul and Cody Jones. At what point does the Celebrity Game stop being a fun basketball exhibition and just become a 40-minute ad for influencers? If the gap in actual basketball ability is this wide, the 'game' part is just a formality.

@bloomkral @mcfNBA @CalebWilson2025 @AJTarHeel247 Fair enough, I won't go to bat for anyone's performances in those games lol
English

@nickmoser13 @mcfNBA @CalebWilson2025 @AJTarHeel247 Its not consistent though. He has takeover mode on both ends but the majority of the SMU, Cal, Stanford games he was lollygagging on defense
English

@bloomkral @mcfNBA @CalebWilson2025 @AJTarHeel247 Dude, you're the only person I've seen say inconsistent motor. I've literally never seen a projected top 5 pick go as hard as him
English

@mcfNBA @CalebWilson2025 @AJTarHeel247 The dumbest people alive got tricked into the whole “he can’t make a layup” stuff and ran with it.
I love Wilson, but still think you can poke holes in his offensive fit though, offball PF who doesn’t shoot 3s is a bit of a tough NBA sell. Defensive motor is inconsistent aswell

@TheListFinsPod This is my favorite tua post that I've seen this week. Very well stated man

Still trying to find the right words to articulate how I feel about how we got here.
Tua is the best quarterback this franchise has had since Dan Marino. At his best he led the league in passing, was at or near the top of every relevant statistical category, an assassin on third down. We got some amazing memories with him and I firmly believe he could've led us to some post season success in 2022 if he hadn't got hurt or 2023 if injuries didn't cripple us on both sides of the line.
For those who think the player he was before this season will be easy to replace, I think you'll be in for a rude awakening.
It's quite clear injuries have had a profound impact on Tua's career. Starting with that first hip injury back at Alabama which took away some of his torque, to the concussions which have made him too cautious (understandably), to the new hip injury last year. It's all taken a toll.
This year his fundamentals have been off. His pocket presence (which was elite when he first got here) has broken down, he's throwing off platforms no QB should (see pick against Pittsburgh), and he's not going through his progressions like he has in the past. I think these are the things Tua will have to prioritize this offseason.
As for the future - I don't know what happens next. If he is gone in 2026, I am thankful for the moments where we all believed Miami was legit again. I will never regret the teams decision to roll the dice on the player Tua was at Alabama. I will also not be surprised if Tua's second act is a highly successful one if he is on a new team in 2026. My advice to him would be to get his head down and remember how quickly narratives flip in this league.
I still firmly believe Tua is this teams best option for 2026. But I do not see how that can happen if Mike McDaniel is coming back. Lots to reflect on for everyone involved here, but if this it, then it's #ThankYouUce and I'll always be rooting for you wherever you end up. 🐬🤙
Signed Mr. S

@BrewPack8 Giannis deserves blame here too for the coaching hires and also the moves made with the roster. Just trade him and get it over with. He's going to age poorly anyways with all the injuries that are mounting. Might as well trade him before he inevitably blows out his Achilles.

@JoshGrahamShow Remember that your friend Nick at Bobo's tried to tell you about Tet before the season started! I'm glad you came around! 🍻

I’m thankful that God’s love for me doesn’t depend on my performance. That my value is found in who I am to Him, not in what I do.
“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”
Ephesians 1:4-7

IF I GET DEMENTIA…..
I’d like my family to hang this wish list up on the wall where I live. I want them to remember these things.
1a. Every time you enter the room announce yourself. “Hi Dad - it’s Amanda.”
NEVER ask- Do you know who I am??? That causes anxiety.
• If I get dementia, I want my friends and family to embrace my reality.
• If I think my spouse is still alive, or if I think we’re visiting my parents for dinner, let me believe those things. I’ll be much happier for it.
• If I get dementia, don’t argue with me about what is true for me versus what is true for you.
• If I get dementia, and I am not sure who you are, do not take it personally. My timeline is confusing to me.
• If I get dementia, and can no longer use utensils, do not start feeding me. Instead, switch me to a finger-food diet, and see if I can still feed myself.
• If I get dementia, and I am sad or anxious, hold my hand and listen. Do not tell me that my feelings are unfounded.
• If I get dementia, I don’t want to be treated like a child. Talk to me like the adult that I am.
• If I get dementia, I still want to enjoy the things that I’ve always enjoyed. Help me find a way to exercise, read, and visit with friends.
• If I get dementia, ask me to tell you a story from my past.
• If I get dementia, and I become agitated, take the time to figure out what is bothering me.
• If I get dementia, treat me the way that you would want to be treated.
• If I get dementia, make sure that there are plenty of snacks for me in the house. Even now if I don’t eat I get angry, and if I have dementia, I may have trouble explaining what I need.
• If I get dementia, don’t talk about me as if I’m not in the room.
• If I get dementia, don’t feel guilty if you cannot care for me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s not your fault, and you’ve done your best. Find someone who can help you, or choose a great new place for me to live. With a bus and activities!!
• If I get dementia, and I live in a dementia care community, please visit me often.
• If I get dementia, don’t act frustrated if I mix up names, events, or places.
Take a deep breath. It’s not my fault.
• If I get dementia, make sure I always have my favorite music playing within earshot.
• If I get dementia, and I like to pick up items and carry them around, help me return those items to their original place.
• If I get dementia, don’t exclude me from parties and family gatherings.
• If I get dementia, know that I still like receiving hugs or handshakes.
• If I get dementia, remember that I am still the person you know and love.”

Multiple Founding Fathers' statues faced destruction or removal: George Washington's was toppled and burned in Portland during 2020 riots, while another was vandalized in San Francisco. Thomas Jefferson's statue was officially relocated from New York City Hall after activist demands. These incidents, part of widespread protests, involved both violent toppling and pressured relocations, far exceeding one example. Distinguishing them doesn't diminish the targeted erasure of foundational figures.
English

The great irony is this party has spent the past decade+ trashing the Founders and tearing down their statues, only to invoke them as a cosplay idea.
