Do NOT believe a fucking word of this without hearing the @GCSAA @GolfSupers counterpoints. This is more bullshit propaganda perpetrated by so called environmentalists who REFUSE to engage in any research or get off their asses and actually visit a course/talk to a super.
Massimo@Rainmaker1973

Experts increasingly describe many traditional golf courses (especially high-input designs) as biological deserts or dead zones, where intensive management severely undermines local ecosystems, biodiversity, and water resources. The quest for pristine, uniform fairways and greens often replaces rich, diverse habitats—such as wetlands, grasslands, or forests—with vast expanses of monoculture turfgrass. This drastic simplification displaces native plants and animals, leaving only a limited set of resilient "urban adapter" species able to tolerate the conditions. Maintenance practices compound the damage: heavy applications of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers are common to keep the turf perfect. Rain events wash these chemicals into nearby streams, lakes, and groundwater, fueling harmful algal blooms, depleting oxygen in water (creating hypoxic zones), and poisoning aquatic life. Water consumption adds significant strain, especially in dry or drought-prone regions. Golf courses can require millions of gallons daily for irrigation, diverting resources that could support community drinking supplies or natural ecosystems. As these impacts become harder to overlook, the golf industry faces growing calls to adopt sustainable approaches: integrating native vegetation, reducing chemical inputs, preserving natural areas, and designing courses that support wildlife rather than supplant it. Shifting manicured monocultures toward functional, biodiverse landscapes is increasingly viewed as essential for long-term environmental resilience. It must be noted that the critique focuses on high-input designs, as some well-managed courses incorporate habitat restoration and provide benefits like urban green space or pollinator support.

@MyGolfSpy @6thFairway @PuttView @TheStackSystem I would not agree. In general, I like to start by maximizing internal validity to isolate the signal, then gradually improve external validity. That inevitably introduces more noise and extraneous variables—but that’s how you learn if the effect actually holds.

Kay Adams gets Jordan Spieth to talk about the broomstick and anchoring. He is cordial about it, but he also thinks the putter should be the shortest club in that bag and explains why. It’s an easy fix and eliminates anchoring essentially.

@MMGOLFSTUDIOS If the arms were actively lowering we’d expect the shoulder/arm angle to change earlier. The fact it stays stable until the lead shoulder rises makes it look more like the pivot creates the separation rather than the arms producing it. Am I close?

Between the tangential velocity of the clubhead being farther away from the pivot point making it move much faster than the shoulder, and the “releasing” angles of the shoulders to arms and arms to club, there’s a lot of EASY speed… if you have some rhythm and let it go.

So if Tiger were actively using his arms to lower this club we’d expect to see separation in the angle change of the arms and shoulders. I know this is 2D but how much extra effort do you think Tiger is producing with the arms from P4 to P5.5?

What if instead of overpowering the swing with arms and hands you have passive arms and hands (just let them fall). Get to a consistent top position (you already do), while your arms fall move your left shoulder in front of the ball then up.

A very enjoyable 4 weeks golf at 4 great venues(all in capital cities) with each course in excellent condition. Even though they were all desert courses, they were distinctly different tests. I really struggled off the tee for the four weeks, short and crooked. I was working on ground forces which always seems to mess me up. I think I figured it out over the last few days but it left some fear for sure. On the bright side I went back to my old putter and SG putting was pretty much average each week , which is a big improvement for me over last year. Definitely some of my winter work stuck through the 4 weeks. I was happy with my chipping and pitching. My routines and focus were poor, they’ll hopefully be my priority for the rest of the year. #dubaiinvitational. @DubaiDCGolf #BahrainGolfChamps #QatarMasters

@TronCarterNLU Todd, as we are witnessing peace in the golf world, maybe it’s time for us to settle our differences as this incident was more than 2 years ago now. I promise not to threaten you again if you promise not to set up fake dating profiles using my personal details. Deal?

Yesterday I was pretty consistently 96-97 CHS with my 44.25" driver. I tried my friend's 45.5" driver and immediately hit 101 mph, but smash was 1.39, down from 1.47-1.49 with my driver. How do I hit it out of the middle with a longer driver?

@nickstec @pxg 1) if lie angle changes, the "balance" changes 2) if face angle changes, the "balance" changes 3) who says it's really feasible to put zero twisting input into the putter with your hands? If so, then this minimizes the "resistance" to twist But some people like the feel 🤷‍♂️

@pxg True zero torque would mean: •The putter never produces rotational acceleration •No torque appears from motion, gravity, or impact •It is dynamically inert in all conditions That is impossible with a physical object.

This is a great idea @TGL
Shane Bacon@shanebacon

@LukeKerrDineen I contend they should place within the cities of the team names ... play down 5th Ave. to a golf hole if you're the New York TGL team. Do the same around the lake if you're Chicago. We all make up golf holes all the time in everyday spaces, this is the time to lean into that!
