@Morbidful I find the superfluous "American" bizarre. "Three children were" should be sufficient. Are there many people who would say that children of "X" nationality are not worth acknowledging the horror of the situation?

On May 27, 2024, three American children were hit by lightning on a beach in Puerto Rico. The children, aged 7, 10, and 12, were transported to a hospital in the nearby town of Aguadilla, according to a police statement. On average, 20 to 30 people people are killed and hundreds more are injured by lightning each year in the U.S. each year.
