@nicolespacek @Beth02428329 migraines do feed on cycles and interuptions in your regular sleep tend to make them harder to break i've have over 20 migraines a month since like age 6 so i unfortunately well aware! i prefer unisom over benadryl, it's also an antihistamine but it just works better personally

@shainybugg @Beth02428329 Yes yes. I second all of this. But if you have the option to try and sleep and Benadryl knocks you out, I recommend. Also antihistamines sometimes interrupt the migraine cycle. (Or so I’ve been told over the years by doctors)

@Beth02428329 one of the best things for a sinus related migraine, at least for me and several family members, is turning on the shower as hot as possible, and closing the bathroom door and letting it get really steamy and warm in there, then just sitting in there as long as you can (outside)

Alright y’all, so in a semi hilarious response but also too on the nose for healthcare in the US in general, I had reached out to my neuro office about this pain I’m having. This was the nurses response 🙃👌 Can’t wait for this office to operate on my brain. Lolololol.

Tfw you’re in so much pain you can’t even do your job that you’ve made your career for the last 17+ yrs but also you don’t want to inconvenience anyone so while offing yourself sounds good, you’d let too many people down so instead it’s crying hysterically while grooming a dog

@aaroncoates Thank you for saying this. It’s validating because I did raise prices this yr and there has been push back but like, I don’t want to undercut other groomers in town either so sorry it costs more than $60 to get your doodle groomed but it also takes me more time than a 10lb doggo.

One of the best groomers in our town lived her later years in constant pain with multiple surgeries and wearing wrist braces all the time. We all love our pups, but seeing her from the other side, was thankful that we never used her. Raise your prices. Call it inflation, until enough customers leave so you can cut back to 3-4 days per week. Train a young assistant to help, then start adding back, even offering discounts for the first 3 grooms done by the assistant. Do it a second time to get 2 helpers. By the 3rd time, you will have a viable business that doesn’t require you to do the grooming unless training a new staff member. People who love dogs tend to be people pleasers. But generating an income, should not endanger your lifestyle unless you get paid crazy money. Go back to your prices from when you first hit capacity, then put that in an inflation calculator to see what those prices would be today. I’m pretty confident that you are charging less than you used to.

@SpookySokoke You are so right. I have some amazing clients and then also the ones I tell that I have a dr appointment at 10am and I’ll be back asap (I’m very open about what’s going on) and then they are calling at noon to see if their dog is done yet. 😑 it’s a very mixed bag.

@nicolespacek Take care of yourself girl, listen to your body. You’re going through so much. Good clients will be understanding and likely prefer you to be feeling good while grooming their pets. i know animal care in general can be unforgiving w long hrs etc too, though. 🫂
