@DPWorldTour @GolfweekNichols @PGATOUR Proper English calls for the earlier event and winner to be mentioned first. Failing this decreases social media engagement due to readers feeling uncomfortable with the unnatural prose.

The LPGA’s stats before 1980 have been essentially non-existent. They’ve been working on it forever and are finally making some headway, I’m told. For a long time, the tour’s website listed Annika as the player with the most career titles. Everyone has to use Wikipedia. I also have old media guides at home.

@lpga why does the webpage for Pat Bradley only credit her for 26 wins when she has 31 LPGA wins ?@GolfweekNichols and Kathy Whitworth with 8 wins do better. lpga.com/athletes/pat-b… lpga.com/athletes/kathy…

Can’t for the life of me figure out why the LPGA can’t just put the Korda sisters together for the first two rounds of the Ford. The tour has to find ways to break through March Madness, MLB opening day and Masters buildup. First time in the same LPGA field since 2023, just give fans what they want! Instead, the Kordas aren’t even in the same wave! Nelly off in the AM and Jessica in the PM tomorrow. Put them in the same TV window. This is the tour making it harder than it needs to be. How do teams not have like full Hammer strategies in place before they go into the match? Obv adjust based on the match but just have at least an outline, like the hammer is the most important part of the damn match.

@richiebratton @acaseofthegolf1 Wait a minute. The PGA Tour says they want fewer events so their players don’t get burned out and the audience anticipates watching. Then they keep cramming two events into one weekend?

Full status didn't cut it for getting into the WM Phoenix Open this week and the reduced field size didn't help them finish the first round before play was suspended. #Fail So maybe just go back to 132 and have a Monday Q 🤔 story here: golfweek.usatoday.com/story/sports/g… cc: @dylan_wu59

@GolfweekNichols “Hardened the course?” Then why do you allow players to hit from cart paths, hospitality flooring, etc.?

Here’s the full letter LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler sent out to players addressing what happened on Sunday at the TOC: LPGA Athletes, When I joined the LPGA last July, I said trust would be our highest priority — with all of you, partners, fans, staff and media. This weekend at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, that trust was tested. I made the decision to limit the event to 54 holes, worried that our athletes might be injured given the way record overnight low temperatures hardened the course.  While the decision was a tough one and ran counter to prior statements we shared, I made a judgement call. With the benefit of hindsight, there were clearly other ways we should have managed the situation. I recognize this decision, and others we made in real time, were confusing and disappointing to our fans. And our communication around the decision wasn’t clear or timely enough. Your frustration is valid — I own that, and I’m sorry. We are already taking steps to improve: •Establishing clearer principles for play decisions in challenging situations, including strengthening weekly contingency planning •Communicating faster, more clearly, and with better real-time information. Our thanks to the staff at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club who did great work to make sure the course was prepared and our partners at Hilton Grand Vacations who pulled out all the stops to celebrate great golf with their guests. This is a special Tour with an incredible future ahead. We won’t be perfect, but we will be accountable, learn quickly, and keep earning your trust. Respectfully, Craig Kessler, LPGA Commissioner (More to come …)

Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin are probably big Brooks fans right now. Any event that Brooks enters there will be two players added to the field in addition to him. This is so they make an extra threesome. However Brooks must not WD prior to 12 (pacific) today in order for Lanto and Suber to be added to the field. If he did for any reason then they would go back to being 1st and 2nd alternate. So I assume the two of them are anxiously watching the clock.

@BrentleyGC My thoughts include that he had either a poor choice of words or he is the wrong person to lead an organization. Saying there is a middle class means he thinks some players are lower class. And that’s an insult.

"The middle class matters." Among Brian Rolapp's comments from CNBC's CEO Council Forum in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was the importance of all PGA Tour members, not just its stars, in creating the best product possible. Said Rolapp: “Every sport has stars, but what really makes sports work is really the middle class. So, in my old job, sure, we put the Kansas City Chiefs on primetime as much as we can, but that’s not why the NFL was so successful; it was because when the Bengals are good, you watch, and when the Lions are good, you watch. The middle class matters. You cannot build a lifelong sport that outlives your stars if you don’t build a system that works beyond your stars.” Parity was one of three pillars, along with scarcity and simplicity, for Rolapp as he looks to revamp the PGA Tour's competitive model. The PGA Tour already has parity, Rolapp adds, which is the hardest of the three to achieve. Added Rolapp: “Any sport worth its salt says, if this competition only works if there are a couple people in it, it’s not a sport, it’s a circus.” It will be interesting to see how the PGA Tour's signature events, with limited fields and no cuts, fit into Rolapp's emphasis on parity and the middle class. Thoughts?

To anyone who still wonders if sportswashing works, here's your answer: The LPGA is now officially in business with Saudi Arabia. My support for this tour has always been about more than golf — it’s about opening doors for women, breaking ceilings, and giving young girls role models. But my commitment to women’s rights is even stronger. Supporting women’s golf is one thing; enabling a regime that silences and abuses women is another. You can’t claim to champion women’s empowerment while aligning with a regime that still restricts women’s rights and silences dissent. This deal raises big questions: whose empowerment are we celebrating — and at what cost?
