@keatsie777 @Debbbooo I know exactly how it works, I volunteer at parkrun and juniors. I've run over 200. I like to go as fast as I can and enjoy seeing others do the same. I want women to be able to compare their times just like I do. I just want a solution that doesn't put pressure on volunteers.

No it wouldn't Neil 🙄. You ask people to register by sex. You trust people to register by sex. If there is a discrepancy you can ask for ID (after the run) If the complaint is upheld you remove that person's results. You don't need to ID everyone.

@KirstiMiller30 FACT-Parkrun provides us with stats that allow us to compare our progress against our age and sex categories. Cheating men take this away from women.

@markinneswilli @QcWynter "Fun run" has many meanings lots of us run our fastest at parkrun for fun. Using it as a time trial is fun. c Comparing your time in sex and age cat's is fun for us. We just want women to have that option and that's easily achievable by everyone registering their sex correctly

James runs Park Runs and is jolly good at it. He also knows that men are not women and that this matters. That makes him a good man. A good "follow" for anyone who wishes to take on the errant logic of the "Fun Run" genderists, interestingly almost exclusively male, of Park Run.

@DiJa197624 @HallisseyC weird comment , many parkrunners are chasing improvement and pbs'. That's how you know you're getting fitter. some come for a jog and a chat, both are fine. Comparing your performance against the best in your age and sex category is a great measure of your ability.

@HallisseyC Claire have you ever considered you’re ruining park run and what it was set to to be by turning it into a competitive pressured competition? That’s the exact opposite of what it is. It’s for non Olympians, normal people who want to jog in the park. That’s it. Stop doing this.

@investwisely321 agree, I'm lucky to be a gfa but I know loads of dedicated runners who just can't get in. Maybe rebalance the selection criteria giving more places to UKA affiliated running clubs.

@DaveOurPlanet @alex_schmalex99 I think all sensible people want the same thing, I just want a solution that doesn't put Saturday morning volunteers on the spot whatever their personal beliefs. Parkrun has limited resources but they could start by scrapping gender & addressing the high profile cheats.

I have yet to see any parkrunts give a meaningful reason as to why #parkrun should not categorise by sex rather than gender, in line with the law. They literally have no good reason to support the sexism they support.

@DaveOurPlanet @Dunedan @alex_schmalex99 should be easier for London marathon under EA rules. A wee bit trickier for parkrun. As a volunteer I'd love everyone to be honest but they aren't. I just can't see a practical solution unless we lose the cat's and personally I'd hate that because I'm old and fast.

@nigelh26166015 @DaveOurPlanet No. It's simple rules. People are decent, aren't cheaters and will follow them. Right now the rules are anyone can decide whatever gender they feel they are. Adding an optional 'sex field' and categorising by it is quite simple.

@RachelPAV yep, we went by road from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. paid a little over the odds for taxi but 100s not 1000s as reported. Border was quiet and roads vastly superior to UK motorway. Not tipped off by Muscat hotel £70/night 4*. 2 calm days in Muscat and well looked after by BA people.

I think it’s irresponsible to continue to operate this airport when it’s been under drone attack multiple times now. The people getting injured are once again migrant workers from poor countries. Muscat is a much safer option and easily reached by road. As the reaction to that ridiculous Times article confirmed, that road is excellent and there are many transport options.
