@Courtnadge43031 @brightonsnapper I used the 32% above. As the price goes up the fuel duty stays the same, 52.95 pence per litre according to gov site, so the difference ex-vat is actual fuel cost. £1.50/litre is £1.25 + 25p vat. £1.25 - £0.5295 duty = £0.7205 for the fuel itself. £1.95/ltr = £1.05 for the fuel😵‍💫

@nigwill99 @brightonsnapper It's 54.9p. a litre fuel duty **plus** 20 % VAT added so the pump price of £1.50, the actual fuel is 65p., the other 85p. goes to the Treasury.

@brightonsnapper @Courtnadge43031 If my maths is correct the government gets £4.34 for every £10 of fuel we buy. No wonder the government isn’t bothered about helping us, they’re too busy rubbing their hands in glee 🙄 On top of that, they’re planning to raise fuel duty in the autumn I think…

Using modelled temps and rainfall this winter (DJF) looks like it will sit 68th out of 80 winters since 1946-47. There's been no lying snow at 9am. If this doesn't change before May it will be the 3rd winter running - this last happened 1997 - 99 wansteadmeteo.com/2013/12/12/sno…

It would be possible to write another 20 posts about this wonderful stretch of water, but I think 10 is quite enough for a Twitter thread. END

Loch Lomond is arguably Scotland’s best-known stretch of water, no doubt due to its proximity to Glasgow and the large population centres of Central Scotland. It is dissected by the Highland boundary fault line, and has some unique characteristics. 1/n

Thanks to everyone who continues to give feedback on our refreshed app, so we can resolve issues and make improvements. This week we’re enhancing the timeline on the weather maps, making the design more compact, and adding surface pressure information. From next week we’ll add surface pressure charts and video, provide more units of measurement and additional in-app information to explain improvements. You should get the changes automatically after we release them, or you may need to manually update the app. Give us your feedback and report problems via the buttons on the app. This ensures it goes directly to the developers, so they can continue to fix issues and enhance the app. Download now 👇 - iOS bit.ly/3M0VRMW - Android bit.ly/49AL4mx

@brightonsnapper I feel for those who were hoodwinked by this bunch, but at the same time I can’t believe anyone thought they’d be anything but as they are 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sᴏᴜᴛʜᴇʀɴ ᴇɴɢʟᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ
good agreement on short window of snow conducive air starting later on Friday 13th & lasting around 24-30 hrs Now we need to wait & see if we get a standard wishbone (dry inland, wetter towards coasts) or if something meatier pops up Should be some sunshine in that window too🎉
Sᴏᴜᴛʜᴇʀɴ ᴇɴɢʟᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ@LondonSnowWatch

Good to see gefs now on board with a few days of colder air starting around the 12th or 13th Feb Some members model snow conducive air but there's plenty uncertainty remaining on just how cold the air gets down south Fingers firmly crossed
