@JenJenIsHere7 @ZacharyDonnini For many of the Democratic elites, God is Dead, or at least the public version. The space has been filled by fake Christians who are very public in their religion. For those who take their religion seriously, politicians showing their connection to God is most important.

2024 was an unmitigated disaster for Democrats with Hispanic voters. Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban voters all shifted hard towards Trump, and swings were especially extreme in the lowest education areas and in communities with more recent immigrants.

Critique of the US Security State is not part of the mainstream DNC left's agenda. Bernie and AOC rarely condemn the CIA, NSA, FBI, NED because they (correctly) see them as political allies. Also, it's usually good in politics when a faction adopts one's long-standing beliefs.

John McCain and I didn’t always agree, but he understood that some values transcended parties.
