The Al-Qaeda terrorist and suspected mastermind of the 7/7 bombing in London 2005 in which 52 people were killed and 800 wounded, Haroon Aswat, was released early from psychiatric prison last year “after his schizophrenia improved.” UK judges ruled for his release from psychiatric care, overriding police and security services’ warnings that he was still a massive danger to public security. Aswat was linked via phone contacts with the bombers, had met some of them in Pakistan before the attack and had travelled back to the UK just weeks before the attacks and last the UK on the same morning that the attacks took place. He was arrested in Zambia a few weeks later with bomb-making manuals. The U.S. wanted him extradited for past terrorist offences on their territory but faced legal obstacles from European judges. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) first blocked his extradition to the USA due to concerns his paranoid schizophrenia would worsen in US prison conditions (breaching human rights against inhuman treatment). After US assurances on care, he was eventually extradited back in 2013. He was sentenced in the USA in October 2015 to 20 years for conspiring to provide material support to al-Qaeda, including helping set up a jihadist training camp in Oregon with Abu Hamza associates. After serving time, he was extradited back to the UK around 2022 and held under the Mental Health Act. Last year, UK judges decided to give him an early release and he is now free in West Yorkshire with just limited monitoring since it was deemed that stricter measures such as being forced to wear an ankle monitor risked worsening his psychiatric status and would be against mental health law provisions.

Mir wären zu Bestrafung der Verantwortlichen die Grundsätze, das zum Tatzeitpunkt das Strafgesetz schon verabschiedet sein muss, völlig egal, da das Unrecht eines solchen Handelns auf der Hand liegt, und die Grundsätze keinen Sinn machen, wenn der Staat sich selbst gegen die eigenen Bürger wendet.

Der junge Mann verblutete in Handschellen und starb, weil die Polizei mehr um den vermeintlichen Rassismus besorgt war als um ein mögliches Gewaltverbrechen, dem jungen Studenten nicht glaubte und entsprechend auch keine medizinische Hilfe anforderte. Novak sagte zuletzt dieselben Worte wie der Schwerverbrecher George Floyd einst bei seiner Verhaftung. "I can`t breathe". Für den Tod des schwarzen, fentanylabhängigen Gewalttäters kniete sich die halbe Welt hin, man stellte ihm sogar ein goldenes Denkmal auf. Er war die Initialzündung der Black Lives Matters Bewegung. Henry Novak wiederholte mehrfach, er sei erstochen worden. Die Polizei nahm ihn nicht ernst und verhaftete ihn stattdessen wegen eines vermuteten Hassverbrechens. Der Angeklagte sagt nun, er habe Angst gehabt, dass Novak ihn mit seinem eigenen Messer angreift. Er sticht also auf Novak ein und will anschließend Angst gehabt haben, Novak könnte ihm das Messer wegnehmen und ihn selbst erstechen? Eine gewagte Verteidigungsstrategie.  Es ist auch ein Fall über das totale Versagen der Polizei. Die Videocam der Polizisten offenbart inzwischen, wie sie sein wiederholtes Bitten um Hilfe ignorieren und abwiegeln bis er am Ende leblos zusammenbricht.

Marcuse gave the strategy its most powerful tactical manual in his 1965 essay “Repressive Tolerance”: true liberation, he argued, required “liberating tolerance” - tolerance only for progressive ideas and outright intolerance for conservative or “regressive” ones. Free speech, in other words, was only legitimate when it served the revolution. The intellectual poison of the Frankfurt School was extraordinarily influential and as its graduates and intellectual heirs colonised universities, media, NGOs and corporate HR departments, Critical Theory evolved into today’s identity politics, DEI mandates and cancel culture - a cultural Marxism that attacks the individual in the name of group grievance. What began with a small circle of German émigrés in the 1930s now shapes the moral vocabulary of much of the Western elite.
